The Thursday Club was formed in 1921 when four young women proposed the beginnings of a club that would combine social activities with worthwhile civic and benevolent projects.
It wasn't until 1927 when The Thursday Club was granted the deed to a large parcel of land on a choice spot in the Sunset Cliffs area of Point Loma by the Pantages, Mills & Shreve Company, that they would realize their dream of having a clubhouse to call their own. The Thursday Club is one of San Diego's most picturesque wedding venues, offering breathtaking ocean views and a lush, vibrant garden. Built in 1927 in Spanish architectural style, our extraordinary Clubhouse sits on a half-acre of stunning ocean view property in Point Loma.
Our delightful event location offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for your wedding, meeting or other special occasion. The 2,500 square foot air-conditioned ballroom comfortably accommodates up to 150 guests for a seated dinner service with a dance floor, 175 guests without. The 300 square foot stage is a perfect spot for your DJ or guest speaker.

The Thursday Club is located in the beautiful Sunset Cliffs neighborhood of Point Loma, San Diego. Rental times can start as early as 9am, and all events end by 9pm with guests departed by 9:30pm.

Our clubhouse reception space for seated meals holds up to 150 guests with a dance floor, 175 without. For a standing or theater-style seating event, the capacity is 250. The capacity for garden wedding ceremonies is 145 chairs, with standing room on our west balcony for 15.
The heart of The Thursday Club is the combination of inspiring women of all ages who share the gift of giving. The Thursday Club Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt entity, was established in 2004 to facilitate the volunteer efforts supporting charitable activities connected with The Thursday Club, The Thursday Club Juniors, and the Professionals.

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at The Thursday Club, and it was the best decision we could have made. Chris, the manager, is the nicest person, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was very responsive to emails, gave thoughtful responses to our questions, and had great vendor recommendations. On top of that, the venue is absolutely stunning. I would absolutely recommend the The Thursday Club to anyone in need of a wedding venue or event space.

My nephew got married at The Thursday a few weeks ago.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful with the most breath taking
views in San Diego. The beauty of this place is second to none.
What makes it so special, is the manager who operates the club, Chris.
He made my family feel like they were his family. He always greeted
us with a smile and went out of his way to accommodate our requests.
He was always responding back to any and every question and offering
his expertise in the set up of the Club. The wedding was a huge success and the family is still talking about it.

My husband and I got married at The Thursday Club and we cannot speak highly enough of the venue. Chris, the venue's manager, is phenomenal to work with - kind, professional, responsive, and attentive to detail. The venue itself is magical, with Spanish style architecture, a lush garden, and sunset views overlooking the ocean. We truly could not have been happier with our perfect day.

We got married at the Thursday Club last weekend. It was absolutely amazing!! The venue was the perfect mix of indoor + outdoor space that we had been searching for. Our ceremony was held outdoors in the garden and our reception was indoors in the clubhouse. With the mild San Diego weather, we were able to have the clubhouse doors and windows open, which gave the reception area a very airy and open feeling despite being indoors. As a wedding photographer, wedding venues close to the beach are always a dream! The view of the sunset from the balcony can not be beat and the space is bright and has tons potential! The gardens and space for ceremony are gorgeous. The space doesnt need much decoration as it's already beautiful, while still having tons of room for creativity!
The Thursday Club’s goal has always been to combine social activities with worthwhile civic and benevolent projects. Portions of the venues fees go back into the community, which I love! I highly recommend the Thursday Club and hope to be back sooon!

The venue is stunning and the service is unmatched.
From the beginning, Chris has been amazing. He is quick to respond, attentive, and respectful. Even the members of The Thursday Club we have interacted with have been friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things.
Unfortunately, we had to cancel our wedding due to the pandemic and were met with nothing but grace and empathy. I'm hopeful that we'll be able to reschedule for 2021 once things are lifted.

I work for a catering company here in San Diego and we work at the Thursday Club all the time. There are a million reasons why this is one of my favorite venues but #1 would be that the Chris, the venue manager, is extremely helpful throughout the entire event planning process and will cater to all of my client's needs. Not only is Chris always so accommodating, but the venue will leave you in awe! The space is stunning, versatile and offers amazing views! The price is also just right and even includes tables and chairs so you don't have to rent those separately. You really do get a lot

My husband and I recently hosted our wedding reception at the Thursday Club. We loved working with Chris, their manager, in planning our wedding reception. He made the booking and coordinating of events go smoothly. He recommended a handful of vendors that we ended up booking. We loved working with all of them. We are so grateful to have had our wedding at the Thursday Club. It comes complete with gorgeous ocean views in multiple directions, an amazing property, and the property manager, Chris, was an absolute delight to work with. Looking back on our photos and our memories of the day, we couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else, it is truly breathtaking. The venue was the perfect size for our 140 guests, along with room for the dance floor and a photo booth. Another bonus of the Thursday Club, you can sneak off to Sunset cliffs, about three minutes away, and take some unforgettable photos

What a gorgeous venue. If you're thinking about having your wedding here, don't hesitate! We celebrated our wedding reception here on October 13th and had the time of our lives. Working with Chris was a pleasure - he was always just an email or phone call away. I had a lot of questions when we first started planning and he always graciously answered them. Our guests were stunned by the views, which is one of the main reasons we chose this venue. My husband and I met at Sunset Cliffs, so naturally we wanted our wedding to be located near where we met! We had initially wanted to have our wedding right on the beach, but realized that it was too public for our comfort. We were ecstatic when we found The Thursday Club! It's near enough to Sunset Cliffs that we could make a 3 minute drive down the hill during cocktail hour for photos. It's also private enough that we could enjoy an oceanview wedding without worrying about the public!

We rented the Thursday Club for our 30th Anniversary Party. The venue was perfect! The manager, Chris, helped us with the layout of everything, including our various food stations, bar and our karaoke machine. We were able to have a slideshow of 'the happy couple' playing in front and our music selections going until we fired up the karaoke. Everything went even better than we expected. Thank you!

My best friend got married here and she couldn't have picked a better location. For one, that ocean view, my goodness. The venue is just perfect, we weren't a huge party but the seating just flowed and we had a gold space for dancing. The coordinator Courtney was the best, rehearsal and day of, she was easy to find and always helpful. I just might have to have my wedding here.

My cousin had a wedding last weekend so that was the reason for the visit here. I obviously will be reviewing this based on the venue and not the wedding, that would be weird. The wedding was great btw. It had an open bar which made it even better LOL.. The wedding was 5 stars!
