Probably the best service yet. I had $175 to spend on food since i was staying at the hotel. $100 for dinner and $75 for breakfast

Free bread and some kind of fish on cucumber for dinner.

We had seared tuna with mashed potatoes and octopus soup for dinner. Got a vivace drink for $17

For breakfast, we had pancakes, grant breakfast, and a burger. Our waiter knew we were splitting the burger and was kind enough to split it for us. When I couldn't finish the rest, he was kind enough to pack it for us and gave us extra ketchup.

The hotel reservation we made came with complimentary breakfast at the Grant Grill. Usually when you think of hotel breakfasts, you're probably thinking of boring old stations with your continental breakfast sitting on a little candle to keep it warm... but Grant Grill is just completely the opposite.

The dining room is gorgeous with high ceilings and natural light seeping through the windows. And the food? I wanted to try something new every day and nothing disappointed! We were lucky enough to stay there 3 days, and considering all the potential breakfast/brunch places in SD, we were more

Last week, I visited the Grant Grill to have breakfast with my daughter and I just want to applaud the most amazing server that we had, Sydney. She gave exceptional service and was very attentive to our table. My daughter has a few allergies and Sydney paid attention to her needs, happy daughter = happy mom. I think this has been the smoothest breakfast we've had since the pandemic. Thank you so much Sydney!!

This is a favorite of ours. Typical stop on date night. Atmosphere is great and usually has live music. Service is always on point. Get yourself a GG Aviation drink. No longer on the menu but they will still make it.

Still making excellent drinks and mostly good service but hours are very limited.

The lounge closes at 11pm sharp on Friday and Saturday nights. Not 11:01pm, in fact closer to 10:55pm no matter how busy.

Both the lounge and the grill are closed on Sundays.

Of course there are lots of other choices in the Gaslamp, but such limited bar hours are inconvenient when staying in the Grant Hotel.

This was my first dinner at the Grant Grill. The food was exceptional, the service was outstanding. From the Focaccia bread, the mock turtle soup, tomato bisque soup, lamb and frisee amuse-bouche, octopus salad, scallops, 38 day aged ribeye, and the exquisite desserts...this is the best meal in at least five years.

So dare i write a late review; circa 1971 ish.
took my girl for dinner, the Cezar salad was over the top and for me it has never been the same anywhere since. They prepared it table side, raw egg and all, Cherries Jubilee for desert. What a fine dining experience, I hope to return again soon. BTW she's still my girl, 50 years later.

The best place in downtown for a power lunch. If you need to be out and back in court or you want to stay and celebrate. The dry aged burger is out of this world also I would try the lobster salad.

We went for brunch. It was a raining day so the place is empty. The customer service is great. The food is good. The price is not too pricey. It is located inside the hotel. They do not serve freshly squeeze juice. It has a full bar.

Stayed at the hotel and had dinner one night, breakfast for two, and cocktails at night. Classy, sophisticated restaurant with delicious, creative meals, attentive, professional staff in an elegant environment. Live jazz music nightly. Felt like I was on a cruise ship.

Grant Grill Lounge is the house restaurant at the beautiful US Grant Hotel. We enjoyed lunch here on our first afternoon in town. The cocktail list was inventive and the surroundings beautiful. The service was good except the time it took to receive our drinks was over 10 minutes after ordering. The bacon cheeseburger was great and was highlighted by the superbly smoked bacon. The tuna melt was an excellent rendition of a classic. The truffle Parmesan fries were the highlight for both of us. Recommend for a lunch stop especially if staying at the hotel.

In an attempt to do something nice for my wife and friends, I took them to Grant Grill for their latest spin on pop culture. What is it, you ask? How about a cocktail menu completely designed around Game Of Thrones?! I'm not a fan of the show myself, but my peeps loved the concept!

At $15 - $17 each the cocktails have to be good. Spoiler alert, they are. The "Mother Of Dragons" was not only delicious but also beautiful. Served in a real emu egg, the serving staff pours this drink table side for you to enjoy after your done snapping pictures, of course.

We ended up trying them

While in Southern California a few weeks ago, I had a chance to visit the US Grant Hotel and dine at Grant's Grill. Both the lounge and formal restaurant provide a classy, upscale vibe and are supported by first class service.

As we entered through the lounge, we were treated to fantastic, jazz music which was so good ......... I almost wanted to skip the meal and just have a drink and listen to the group.

After being seated and a glass of wine, I tried Sweet Bread for the first time that evening. It was surprisingly good. Crispy tastiness, sauteed in brown butter, apples, ham and figs

Grant Grill is one of San Diego's oldest restaurants, and its mighty presence downtown almost redeems the demented barbarity of the dining scene of the Gaslamp Quarter. Although "America's Finest City" is generally apathetic to fine dining, I've come to appreciate how Grant Grill keeps dauntlessly pushing on while not changing very much about itself.
The "must-order" item? Definitely the "Mock Turtle Soup," which has been on Grant Grill's menu since they opened in 1951 and features a combination of bits of beef short rib and beef tongue to simulate diced turtle meat, controversial in California
