Alexa Elkington, MFT
My name is Alexa Elkington. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over twenty years of successful experience in working with Las Vegas area couples, I am ready to help you transform your relationship. What many people don't know is that couples therapy and marriage counseling aren't the same as individual therapy.

It's more complex, more dynamic, and requires extra time and effort. This is why I schedule 90 minutes for each session - so we can get real issues out on the table and make substantial progress. I will help you take a careful look at yourselves and the relationship you've made together. We'll explore the good and not-so-good aspects of the life you share.
Services
I didn't come to Las Vegas happily. My husband's job brought us here from the East with the promise that we would move elsewhere within two years. Okay, I thought - I can do that! I packed up house, kids, and dog and across the country we went. Two years somehow became two decades and more - and today, we're very happy to call Las Vegas our home.
As a licensed couples counselor and want to help you continue making progress toward the relationship you want. I will get back to you within 24 hours. When you book your first session, I will email you 3 powerful questions that can change your life. Answering these questions is the next step in creating lasting, meaningful change in your relationship.
Even before your first session, you're making progress because you've expressed a desire to do something about the rifts in your relationship and seek relationship counseling. Whether you're married, living together, separated or considering divorce, I am ready to help you work your way toward meaningful, positive change.
I have created Couple counseling Therapy Las Vegas to provide Las Vegas area couples with high quality counseling services and expert guidance in dealing issues that can damage and, ultimately, destroy even the best of relationships. Whether you're on the brink of divorce or you just want to restore the closeness and joy you once felt, I am ready to work with you.
Many people believe that couples counseling is only for people on the verge of a painful breakup. But the truth is, being in an intimate relationship is hard. Difficulties can arise at any point - and there's no reason you should wait until you're in so much agony that daily life becomes unbearable.

We had our first session with Alexa yesterday and we can honestly say we feel it working already. We are going back in two weeks and are looking forward to our next session. I was very apprehensive about counseling because I had a bad experience with it once before. I fully expected to feel attacked and criticized like I did last time. I was anxious walking into the session but Alexa made us feel so welcomed and comfortable about talking about our situation.

Alexa is outstanding! My husband and I were completely roadblocked on communication. Over time she was able to help us learn to communicate in a way that made both of us feel seen and heard. I cannot recommend her enough! She made my husband drop his guard and talk. He wasn't enthusiastic about going in the first place and then began looking forward to our appointments. Alexa has a way of making you feel comfortable where neither one of us felt ganged up on. It would be very easy for a therapist to take a side and make one party feel like the bad guy. Somehow Alexa remains neutral and redirects

Normally I am open minded. Going into the session I felt she has no real care for her clients. The RACIST generalizations would not stop throughout the session. I calmly say threw the session until she chose to use the words "shut up".

Clearly mental health does not matter in this office.

I just wanted to put a disclaimer for people looking for couples therapy that this is not the right place. Dr. Ellington was biased, one sided and for a couples therapy she didn't seem like she was understanding both sides of my wife and I. After a couple of sessions about 3 to 4 sessions and hundreds of dollars which involved us getting homework and lengthy questionnaires which sounds to me like us doing the work for her. My wife and I are in a worse place then when we started off and on the brink of divorce thanks to her. A therapist should not yell at there patient and choose sides especially

I have been in an intensive couples training group with Alexa for several years and I can heartily vouch for her high level of clinical skill and knowledge. Alexa’s warmth, sense of humor and integrity are an added bonus. I recommend her work with couples, as well as individuals, with the utmost confidence.
