Services
We meet with the owner/builder to choose a site that meets all code requirements. The drill crew will bring the rig in and set it up. We start by sliding the first rod with the drill bit on into the first piece of casing. We then hook a winch cable to it and bring the rod and casing to the top head and connect it.
The stem is then lowered inside the 20-foot piece of steel casing. A hardened shoe is welded at the bottom of the steel casing. There is a set of blocks that bolt on the top of the stem; this is for pounding the casing into the ground. The blocks are then taken off the stem; some ground came into the casing.
Hedberg Well Drilling has been proudly serving Northern Wisconsin and the U.P. since 1946. We take pride in what we do, from our office personnel to our field staff we strive to maintain an excellent reputation for the quality and care that we take in our work. Answer: Due to geological conditions, elevation and code requirements the depth of a well will vary and we are unable to guarantee the depth.

Last Fall, when I winterized my summer cottage for the cold North Woods winter ahead, I did as I always did: removed the plugs on the housing for my water pump so that no water would be left in the pump to cause it to freeze and break. However, when I arrived at the cottage two days before the Memorial Day weekend, I was extremely disappointed (a gross understatement) to find that the hole for one of the plugs in the water pump was stripped, so that I could not screw in the plug and get the pump going even after almost four hours of effort in my mosquito infested utility room.
