A Medicare Advantage Plans, (also called Medicare Part C) is an alternative to original Medicare and includes Parts A & B which are hospital insurance and medical insurance. New York Medicare Advantage Plans are offered by private insurance companies who have been approved by Medicare. Medicare Advantage Plans may also include extra coverage like Medicare Part D prescription drug plans New York and also vision, dental or hearing coverage.
Medicare Supplement plans may also be known as 'Medigap, ' and are sold through approved private insurance companies to fill 'gaps' in original Medicare coverage.
