Dry Eye Center of New York is committed to the treatment of dry eyes, blepharitis, and related disorders of the surface of the eye. If you suffer from any of these, make an appointment with our eye doctors in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Symptoms of dry eyes can include redness, dryness, burning, grittiness, excessive tearing, tired eyes, blurry vision, and sensitivity to light.
Patients with dry eyes rate their discomfort at a level similar to the way heart patients rate chest pain. Dry eyes are more pronounced in persons who have reduced blink frequency, such as persons who do detailed technical work or those who work at a computer. Dry eye is sometimes worsened by contact lens wear or surgery.

I WISH my primary Doctor was actually kind, patient, caring and as detailed as Dr. Latkany is. Dr. Latkany is hands down - the best eye doctor (or any doctor for that matter), that I've ever been to. Worth the long train rides. I also really would encourage anyone (who had LASIK or not) to get his book!!! I have chronic severe dry eye disease, and Dr. Latkany's help and his book helped me a LOT! Worth every penny (his book and services). If you need an eye doctor, PLEASE SEE Dr. Robert Latkany!

I have an ocular herpes in my cornea. I was super worried when I moved to New York that I don’t know any specialists for it. I found him through a Yelp review with my symptom and I’ve been happily seeing him for almost 10 years now. He is everything one would look for in a doctor. Highly highly recommend him.

Dr. Latkany has one of the best bedside manners you will find. He's very knowledgeable and even tempered. My corneas have been a hot mess for over a decade. (NO fault of the doctor's) This gentleman def wants his patients to get their eyes healthy! He does his part, will do what he can to ease discomfort, and make suggestions on what he thinks are in your best interests. BUT only you the patient can push yourself to want to heal and take his advice.

I have not seen Dr. Latkany in awhile but when I did he was very kind. He is very knowledgeable regarding dry eye and especially ocular rosacea. He went above and beyond by answering questions after hours and setting me up with a great dermatologist. He referred me to a great allergist to get more insight and even sent me to get my eyes cultured to try to get more information. If I lived closer to NYC I would see him as my primary eye doctor.

Literally changed my life. Diagnosed an allergy that had affected me for 10 years, in 30 seconds. Hes like House, from the show. Knowing Dr Latkany lightly, he probably dislikes that comparison...but seriously he succeeds where other doctors fail. If you have something wrong and your ophthalmologists haven’t helped, get an appointment immediately

Dr. Latkany is a superb eye doctor! I have seen him for years for my severe dry eye and cornea issues -- when nobody else could diagnose and treat my problems he was able to do so. I think I have been to every eye clinic in NYC but there is no need for that any longer thankfully. Besides being a highly skilled and experienced ophthalmologist, he never gives up on you, he listens and he gets to the core of the problem. He truly understands dry eyes combined with a very balanced and effective treatment approach!

Went to this office today for an ailment and had an awful experience with the office so I ended up leaving! Was a mere 7 minutes late for my appt and my appt was said to have been given away--without even a phone call to me to check that I sas coming! So I ended waiting and waiting and waiting in the reception for another FORTY minutes befeo i asked to at least see the asst for intake--and was rudely given some story about only 2 rooms and both md and asst were still busy and none of this adds up bc what asst takes intake for 40 minutes and just how many people went in in those 7 minutes?! Avoid

Dr. Latkany is the doctor to go to for any eye issue! When i went to him, i knew i was in good hands. He listened to everything i was telling him about my eyes and gave me all the time that i needed. When i left his office, i felt better than i had ever felt in months! Keep up the good work, Dr. Latkany!

The best doctor, hands down, for dry eye. Hands down, no question. I went to many ophthalmologists, including at Harvard and Mt. Sinai, to diagnose and treat my dry eye, and none were able to do it properly. Dr. Latkany was the only one to give me proper treatment which improved my quality of life so much. I would be miserable today if not for him. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is superb, superb, superb!

DR. RESTASIS
I went in to see this doctor for dry eye and another eye problem. All he wanted to do is write that Restasis prescription. When I asked about alternative (non immune-suppressive) treatments I had read about, he didn't want to be bothered discussing them. When he saw that I wasn't interested in Restasis he said...."Well I have lots of people in the waiting room." Yes...I was one of those people waiting in the waiting room, and your consult is $400.00. How about putting a little effort into it??
If you want Restasis get it from your PCP, if you have a serious

My left eye recently decided it was sick and tired of functioning and pretty much just bounced on me. Bad enough, but then my right eye started acting up, and I was faced with the prospect of having no eyes. Bummer. After seeking general medical attention I decided it was time to see a serious eye doc and went to Dr. Latkany. Very nice bedside manor and I like his sensible approach to treatment. Office staff are very pleasant and it is easy to schedule appointments. I should mention, my first time seeing the doctor I had no appointment and just rolled up with my busted eyes and they fit
