Heat therapy is often used by acupuncturists to promote circulation and induce the smooth flow of "qi" and blood.

The Biomat, placed on the treatment table, is used in conjunction with acupuncture sessions and is found to offer the following benefits: Alleviate all forms of arthritic pain; Reduce muscle spasms and joint stiffness; Lower blood pressure; Minimize pain and side effect of cancer therapy; Relieve stress and fatigue; reinforce immune system; Improve microcirculation and lymph flow, delivering more oxygen to tissues while eliminating toxins and cellular waste.
Electro stimulation involves the application of gentle electric current by attaching small leads to acupuncture needles. This enhances the stimulation or desired effect for the treatment. It is frequently used with painful, chronic conditions but can be applied for a number of ailments such as muscle spasms and neurological disorders.

Kathy is absolutely AMAZING. I met her during a very difficult time in my health journey, struggling with multiple autoimmune diseases and chronic pain. Thanks to Kathy, I was able to get off of a very powerful medication that was causing nasty side effects. She is the best and I look forward to our time every week.

I have always thought of myself as lucky in life, but not so lucky in health. I found Kathy, West meets East acupuncture on YELP because of the amazing reviews . I came in with many other health issues along with severe neck problems that created constant pain for me. After a few sessions - my neck is without pain. Kathy is excellent and an incredible find! I appreciate her experience, knowledge and skill. Her space is clean and she is definitely someone you should include to be part of your village to better health.

I have had acupuncture several times in my life and have always found it to be a so-so therapy. That changed with West Meets East, specifically, it changed with Kathy (the proprietor). I had an accident leaving me with a moderate brain injury that also completely tweaked my neck. Both were in severe pain. Because of the seriousness of the injury, initially I could not leave home. Kathy came to me when she heard how bad it was. Once I could get to her, I did, and I have seen her every week since (for about 2 months). She has been helping me using acupuncture and using infra-red laser treatments

I highly recommend Kathy, I was a skeptic about acupuncture but after a 5 month bout of shingles in my leg I was willing to try anything. I was on several medications for the nerve pain and virus but it wouldn't clear up, and after 3 weeks with Kathy I'm amazed at the results. My only regret is that I didn't go earlier. The rash is finally nearly all healed and the nerve pain is drastically reduced. She is warm, approachable and knowledgeable. I have other health conditions so I didn't feel comfortable going to someone without extensive medical knowledge so I appreciate how

Kathy has been absolutely wonderful to work with! I was interested to learn she is also a practicing nurse so she is certainly a wealth of information. I visit her in her river west location which has 2 quite comfortable private rooms that each provide the perfect setup for her relaxing sessions. I just had my second session and cannot believe how much better my jaw is feeling already.

And if you are trying to use insurance she makes it a breeze! If you give her your information she confirms your coverage and you never have to worry about any of those details.

VERY highly recommend for anyone

I contacted Kathy Hanold to discuss if acupuncture treatment would be a good option for me after having strained my QL muscle in my back 10 months previously. I had been through physical therapy and was prescribed painkillers by my doctor, but I was not getting 100% relief and was feeling very frustrated. I was curious to see if acupuncture would be worth trying. I'm so thankful I reached out to her. She thoroughly discussed with me my sleeping, exercise and health habits as well as physically examined me to assess treatment. She was excellent at clearly explaining to me the research behind

I just went to go see Kathy after having a neck cramp and being told to give acupuncture a shot. After reviewing her stellar yelp reviews, I gave Kathy a call to schedule an appointment. A 15% off acupuncture treatment yelp deal was a total plus! Kathy was so helpful with answering my initials questions and even booking an appointment with me the next day, which meant taking a client on a Saturday.

I had never done acupuncture before, and was admittedly nervous! Kathy did everything to make me feel comfortable. We chatted briefly before hand about my general health issues and she gave me great

Kathy is the best! Super nice and attentive. I have been in a couple car accidents as well as a life full of adventure and injuries. I have tried many chiropractors, physical therapists, anyone and everyone. No one made a dent until Kathy. She has LITERALLY changed my life. The changes started taking place almost immediately after starting treatment and have continued to improve over time. My range of movement and mobility have been drastically improved. My cycling, running, workouts have improved 100%. It's like turning back the clock 15 years. I can go on and on about how great Kathy is

Kathy is fantastic! I was referred to Kathy because of her specialization in acupuncture for vision for genetic retinal disease. We scheduled a two-week therapy session and she was super accommodating with my schedule. Each session is informative and she has tips beyond acupuncture (herbs, remedies, nutrition). I look forward to our follow up sessions and continued positive results. She is knowledgable, respectful and invests in her patients' well-being. I definitely recommend visiting Kathy for holistic health & acupuncture.

I had never tried acupuncture before and I was a little skeptical at first, I admit, but I have had several sessions and the results are undeniable. Within two weeks (one session per week), my symptoms improved significantly.

Kathy is exactly the type of practitioner I wanted: someone open and knowledgeable of both eastern and western medicine. Kathy is non judgmental, compassionate, competent, and professional. She provided me with extremely helpful advice and resources to complement our acupuncture sessions. Her office is clean and orderly but comfortable and relaxing. Excellent experience

I recently starting seeing Kathy for sciatic pain I've been experiencing for a couple of years. She is very attentive, knowledgeable and caring... and she has help with my pain after only 4 visits. She is also quick to recommend other ideas that can help outside of her clinic (stretches, exercises, and natural remedies). Lastly, she is very flexible with scheduling- which is great for my busy schedule! I highly recommend her!

Denise Geiger Chumley -- 5 starI am a nurse at Weiss Hospital and had a wonderful opportunity to experience acupuncture for the first time by the very warm, skilled and holistic Kathy Hanold. From the moment I entered her spa like setting, I was put at ease and briefed on what to expect during and after treatment. What a hidden gem we have at Weiss Hospital with West Meets East Acupuncture. My treatment focused on stress management, and I experienced a deep sense of relaxation and well being that left me heading to my nursing unit to spread the word among my colleagues after my session was over

I was first motivated to try acupuncture for the benefits I heard in treating Rheumatoid Arthritis. I selected Kathy & her practice West Meets East from reading rave reviews and I liked the outlook of "west meets east" in general. My first consultation put me at ease; Kathy is very passionate about what she does and driven to provide the best treatment for each individual patient. I did a few treatments the first couple months then went on Chinese herbs directed by Kathy. After my first treatment I felt great! I woke up the next morning looking refreshed, feeling energized and like

I was referred to Kathy by a friend, shortly after I'd had surgery for a brain injury. Brain damage isn't something with a smooth or rapid recovery curve, and it's impossible for me to say how much of my healing has been attributable to acupuncture treatments. Everyone is different when it comes to neuro stuff. Having said that:

My neurosurgeon has been surprised at the pace of my recovery, and at how soon I've been able to return to work. When I first met Kathy I could hardly complete a sentence; my vocabulary had diminished, my memory was shot, and now watch me go. Seems

Just got back from my first treatment here. Absolutely wonderful. Kathy totally listened and "gets" it. Her opinions of some of my physical challenges were spot on. The place is clean, professional, and what a bargain. Will be going back and strongly encourage anyone looking for health solutions that don't revolve around a prescription will be well served here.

Thank you again, Kathy. This one treatment is going to have a profound and lasting effect on how I live going forward. - Wife of reviewer.

I had gone to Kathy a few times for overall health acupuncture treatments and always found them to be relaxing and restorative. Then, I got food poisoning one weekend, and days after being sick I still felt nauseated and my appetite was not returning. I was feeling exhausted and yucky and even though I knew I needed to eat, nothing sounded good and there were only a couple of things I could even stand the thought of eating. I went to Kathy and was amazed at how much better I felt after the session. My sour stomach was gone completely. When I sat down for my next meal that evening, I didn't

Kathleen Hanold of West Meets East Acupuncture is treating me for severe hair loss and thinning as a result of abusive hair products that I used in the name of fast beauty and convenience. After just two treatments - yes, you read right two treatments I can say without hesitation that my hair is starting to grow back.
