I'd like to know your age, if you are a minor, if you have had lessons before, and what your basic goals for taking piano. I have combined my experience as a classical musician, band performer, composer and music teacher to create my own proved method of teaching that simplifies the learning process, making it enjoyable, fun and educational.

Music lessons provide a wide range of benefits. Music grows new connections in the brain. Because of the way our two hands are used, playing the piano develops these connections better than any other instrument. Piano study improves math skills, coordination, and multi-level thinking. Students slowly develop independence of the hands, and the ability for each hand to perform a completely different action in coordinated unison.

Paul Burd is a talented teacher who really cares for his students. I'm an adult student and have been taking lessons from Mr. Burd for the past 3 years. During that time, I have progressed substantially on the piano. Specifically in my ability to read music, and technique when playing. More importantly, Mr. Burd instilled a love of playing the piano to where I find joy and happiness when I play.
I was even able to continue taking lessons during the pandemic. I even opted to continue with remote lessons post-pandemic. I set my laptop up on a small side table and have a ZOOM call for my lesson.

I have been taking piano lessons with Paul for two years now. I cannot recommend him enough. He can play and teach any style and works with me to select pieces that I love and that help me grow as a pianist. I look back and see that I have progressed so far in just two years. I appreciate that Paul teaches not just what to practice, but how to practice, which helps me to develop good technique and to make the most of my practice time. I also appreciate that he customizes my practice plan according to my personal goals for learning and to my challenges with limited practice time during the week

My two daughters have been taking piano classes with Paul Burd for about a year and a half. They started without any knowledge of music and piano, but have learned so much in a relatively short period of time. Paul is very demanding and expects a lot of time and dedication from his students, but the progress definitely shows. He prepared both of my daughters for the Certificate of Merit test which they passed it with flying colors. Paul is a perfectionist and settles on nothing but perfection from my daughters as they learn new pieces. He is a great piano teacher!

My 13 year old son and 11 year old daughter have been taking piano lessons from Paul for approximately 2 years. They have progressed incredibly in all aspects of playing piano and understanding music. Paul is a serious piano teacher who truly cares about his students and their progression. He is passionate. His is demanding. He cares about the technical aspects of playing with proper form. He expects practice and dedication. If you are serious about learning piano, Paul is your man!

I have been playing music and performing for a long time on both keyboards and Accordion and I feel very lucky to have performed with many top professional musicians over the years. However, as I've never had a formal musical education I was looking for a teacher to help me bring my playing and technique to the next level. Since I play both piano and accordion, I was very happy when I found Paul, who teaches both piano and accordion.
In a short time after starting piano lessons with Paul my piano technique and playing overall has improved significantly, and since piano and accordion have the same

My son has been taking piano lessons from Mr. Burd for over a year and a half. As a piano teacher, he is very accommodating, choosing pieces that fit my son's interest. I have seen growth in my son's ability to play while demonstrating proper technique while practicing. Mr. Burd encourages parents to be present during piano lessons, giving them the opportunity to observe his teaching strategies. I am pleased with the progress my son has made. I would recommend The Music Lessons Studio to anyone looking for a piano teacher who is passionate about his art and has the desire to share his skills and

My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Mr Burd for about a year and a half. She started as a complete beginner and now she can really play and read music on her own. We are amazed by how well she can play. Mr Burd is very patient with her and takes the time to explain everything in a way that she can understand. He really focuses on piano technique theory and artistry while choosing pieces she's interested in. He has pushed her in a very gentle way to become a better musician. We would highly recommend The Music Lessons Studio to anyone wanting to learn to play the piano and a good solid

Paul has helped me improve my piano technique while allowed me to explore many exciting things about playing the piano. He is very professional, extremely patient, knowledgeable, accommodating, and enthusiastic. He is a perfect teacher for adults like me or children who wish to obtain solid foundation with music and various instruments. I live in Del Cerro, and enjoy taking piano lessons with Paul in his well decorated and peaceful studio in La Mesa, within very short distance to Lake Murray.
