Merlin is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (WE-7670B), an ISA Qualified Tree Risk Assessor (TRAQ), a Registered Consulting Arborist (RCA #687) through the American Society of Consulting Arborists, and a CA Licensed Contractor. Education is a key aspect of this business and he is constantly teaching clients about proper tree care and maintenance.

A formal tree risk assessment is valuable for determining the risk that a tree poses to people or property and to prioritize tree work to reduce risk. The assessment can include a written report describing the risk that your tree poses, as well as mitigation options to reduce this risk. Merlin is an ISA Qualified Tree Risk Assessor (TRAQ) through the International Society of Arboriculture.
We work with clients to map, assess, and calculate the trees on their site. This information is used to create management plans and to determine future development and planning decisions. Our clients range from large landowners to city municipalities. We use GIS technology to provide clients with detailed and interactive maps showing the locations, management needs, and priorities for work of their trees.
Damage to trees from construction can be irreparable. We work with homeowners, contractors, and developers to set up protections for trees so they thrive long past the construction project. We also work with clients to recommend which trees to preserve and steps to be taken to do so. Work with contractors and designers during the planning phase to minimize impact to trees.
We can help diagnose your tree for pest and disease issues. We will come up with a best management plan for your trees and property. One critical issue we have in Sonoma County is Sudden Oak Death. It is caused by the plant pathogen, Phytophthera ramorum, and can be deadly to oak trees. We can help diagnose your trees and surrounding environment for SOD.

Merlin's Tree and Farm Care is efficient, friendly, and observant. These guys deserve accolades!!! We had an emergency tree care need - a large broken limb suspended over a roof. Merlin and Seamus arrived promptly, dealt with the broken branch and removed all evidence of the problem. Merlin observed a frayed electrical line adjacent to the tree, notified me, and followed up afterward to make sure the hazard was dealt with properly. I highly recommend Merlin's Tree and Farm Care.
