Sew Dayton
A sewing kit a key item when learning to sew, it's great to start a super basic sewing kit. You can always add to this list, bringing in tools that will help you save time. I always say, no matter how much we already know you can always learn something new. Open a book, website, or blog, take a class that is labeled for beginner, even if you think your skill is higher.

I bet you will learn a tip or trick or two; there is something to be said for taking it back to the basics now and then, it's refreshing.

I'm Jesy Anderson, Owner/Creator of Needle, Ink and Thread and Former Co-Owner of Sew Dayton, a small fabric and sewing studio located in the Oregon District of Downtown Dayton, Ohio. The doors ended up closing and using what I learned after four years in business; I opened Needle, Ink and Thread. I am now focusing on teaching and some custom work.

Needle, Ink and Thread is a great place to take sewing and needlework classes. Jesse is well prepared with materials and skills. She is an excellent seamstress. She is great with kids projects/parties and adult classes. Wonderful place to just spend time! This small business is a real treasure.

Jesy is extremely knowledgeable and so encouraging - I had yet to make a successful outfit until taking a private lesson and getting the fit just right. Highly recommended!

Jesy is an amazing soul! I’ve never sewn anything in my life and she helped me become comfortable and confident on my Aunt’s sewing machine. During our one on one session, she was patient, kind, and caring. I learned all the basics of a sewing machine and practiced sewing some lines. She is an expert in her field and I plan on taking another class with her! Thank you Jesy, you are truly gifted in the art of sewing!

Although I have not gotten any work done by Jesy- I had to leave a review! I called looking for emergency alterations, but she had zero availability. She was so sweet and professional. She provided me with referrals for other places of business; and even went so far as to tell me to give her a call back if I can't find anyone- as she would do some research of her own. I feel as if a person's character is just as important and the work they perform.

I've been taking private sewing lessons by Jesy for a few weeks and it's been truly amazing! Jesy is so warm and kind and doesn't rush me when I'm learning something new. As a twenty-something adult I was kind of embarrassed to be taking classes, but Jesy makes me feel so comfortable. She is a wealth of knowledge and I am so proud to call her my teacher! I've learned how to alter my own clothes, read patterns, I've learned more about my sewing machine than I would ever want to know, and I am currently in the process of making my own dress from scratch! I can also attest to the fact that Jesy cares

Needle, Ink and Thread is my favorite sewing studio! I have taken classes there and also attended open studio time. Jesy is so easy to learn from and deeply cares about her students and making sure they have a great experience. She is also very community-minded and goes out of her way to connect with other businesses and customers in the area. Spend your sewing dollars here, you won't regret it!
