Audra was born in a tiny town in Illinois. She grew up playing all different sports, but in high school, found a passion for running. During that time, she attended physical therapy and developed a strong interest in that as a career path. She applied for the Doctoral Physical Therapy program at St. Ambrose University as a junior in high school and was accepted.
We understand the impact injury has on the mind, body and spirit when you are robbed of your ability to perform at an acceptable level. We also know that a team of health practitioners communicating about an injury achieves greater results by working together. When working with the Catalyst team, you're choosing to identify the cause of your condition, rather than putting a band-aid on your symptoms.
Orthopedic physical therapy is the foundation of our practice as it represents the majority of the conditions we treat on a daily basis. Just as you want to know if we can help you, we want to be sure our team will be a good fit for your particular needs. We have compiled a list of the most common questions we get in our office.
Surgery is scary. No matter how you look at it. While we as physical therapists do our best to prevent surgery, it is required when conservative treatment fails. Psyching yourself up to go through a planned trauma is never easy, even when you are in pain. Knowing more pain will follow along with a lot of hard work and time laid up makes it especially important to prepare yourself and your support network.
Women's health services offered at Catalyst is for women in all phases of life. From pre- and postnatal issues through post-menopausal symptoms, we have a dedicated group of services to meet the needs of women of all ages. I have good days and bad days, but find myself wondering if I actually have a problem, or if my condition is just a normal part of aging.

Great PT experience at Catalyst with Audra treating much of my upper body that had been severely thrown out of whack after a massive rotator cuff injury. Audra is a wonderful person who listens to your concerns and then addresses them, seeking feedback to ensure you're making progress. Future PTs Evan, Eden, Lexia and Vince shared how to properly perform the required exercises without ever losing patience. Lindsay and Meghan proved to be highly capable therapists as well when I was scheduled with them. Everyone is supportive and encouraging. Also appreciated the massages Bess provided as she somehow

Very helpful staff and excellent PT experience from Jonathan Fong. I'll admit I was a bit doubtful that anything was going to help since I'd been in pain for over 7 years. Jon genuinely cares about his patient's progress and is happy to offer further explanations to support his recommendations. After just a few months of implementing the exercises and being mindful of my posture and sleeping position, I am no longer in pain. I feel fantastic, thanks Jon!

I can't say enough good things about Catalyst and specifically the PTs John and Audra. Catalyst was recommended to me by my orthopedic surgeon at UCSD who I saw after straining my hamstring. Too much running during COVID. My ortho said that she and her colleagues go to Catalyst when they get hurt, so I figured it was worth a shot. When I first started at Catalyst I was living with pain and felt it during most of my daily activities. I just had my last session and can say I'm back at 100%, which is pretty much exclusively thanks to the PTs at Catalyst. John and Audra listened to all of my goals

I initially came here for an injury that I was dealing with for over a year that no one could seem to quite figure out until I came to Catalyst and worked with Audra. Within a couple months Audra had entirely resolved my pain and had me back to feeling 100%! I’ve been here for other various smaller injuries too and Audra always knows what to work on to resolve the issue. The entire staff here is super friendly and the overall atmosphere of the place is very welcoming. If you’re looking for physical therapy in San Diego this is definitely the place to go! All the PTs are awesome and you can’t

Highly recommend PT with Catalyst!! You’ll be in good hands with any physical therapist here.
I have worked with Ellie and Missy and they have both helped me so much by working with me as my physical therapists. I have scoliosis and came in for treatment for a back injury. They evaluate how the body moves as a whole and do not only focus on the injured area which has made the biggest difference for me as a patient!!
They have been really fun to work with too. :) I always look forward to going and leave in less
pain! Part of the session is focused on manual therapy which has helped immensely

My PT, John, was awesome and worked with me to reach the next level of recovery from the stroke I had 4 years ago. He understood and was innovative in his approach to correcting my walking gate and enabled me to be active with my grandkids. Throwing a baseball and football has been a way to have connection and make memories with them and took me into being a more active adult that is fun to be around.
John made physical therapy fun. He's one I would recommend for sure.

I fractured my elbow and had surgery a month before flying to San Diego. During my 3 week stay in SD I went to catalyst for PT 3-4 times a week. John was my therapist and I couldn’t be happier with the service and attention I received as well as the results I got in such a short amount of time! Before working with John I was so scared to be without my brace and after our time together I confidently my arm around and improved my range of movement dramatically. John is skilled, attentive and helpful. He’s a true leader as I noticed he’s so patient with his team, explaining everything that we

I have been going to Catalyst for physical therapy for about two months now to deal with an issue that has been bothering me for over a year. Over the past year, I have tried to find relief through other treatments with no luck. My life of activity had come to a complete stop because of the pain.
After just a short time with working with the highly trained therapists (a shout out to Missy and Brad) at Catalyst, I finally have relief from the pain. Although I am not completely healed, I feel confident that I am well on my way to a full recovery and back to my previous active life of hiking, yoga
