Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass: Gastric bypass is the most commonly performed weight loss operation in the United States and has a long and proven track record. It is particularly effective in diabetic patients and in patients with acid reflux. Gastric bypass limits the amount of food you can eat in a meal and decreases the amount of calories that are absorbed from food.
RioSurgical Weight Loss offers ORBERA, a reversible non surgical weight loss procedure, which means no incisions, stitches, or scars. ORBERA is a simple, non-surgical outpatient procedure. I had dr Rodriguez take my gallblader out in July 2020. Let me tell you surgery during the middle of Covid was scary. Dr Rodriguez kept calm even when I went home and had internal bleeding that's rare but worse case scenario happens. Dr. Rodriguez kept communication the entire time. I had to take an Ambulance to the emergency room where Dr. Rodriguez met me and tried to calm me down the best he could. When I woke up Dr. Rodriguez was there to assure me everything was going to be ok and without family being able to see me due to Covid restrictions his words definitely my comfort. He made sure any

Dr. Rodriguez & his staff were amazing! There never was a lack of communication & they answered all my questions even when I thought they were silly. They listened to all my concerns & always got back in a timely matter. For anyone that is contemplating weight loss surgery, I highly recommend you give these guys a call; you won't be disappointed!

I had the balloon done and I was able to keep it in for about 5 and a half months. The whole procedure was great and Dr.Rodriguez was very careful and precise about everything. Unfortunately I had problems of my own and couldn’t finish the whole process and had to remove the balloon three weeks early. I’ve lost 34 lbs the last 5 and a half months. Although I had difficulties of my own he would still make sure everything was going good. Nurse Karina was also very kind and patient. Their customer service and the help I received was amazing. I’ve been struggling with weight loss for about 16

I had the misfortune of meeting Dr Rodriguez at the emergency room on new year's day. The hernia I have been dealing with for the past few years finally said enough. He was very friendly and comforting in my procedure. I am currently trying to come up with the financing for my bypass surgery. I wil stay with him for the long run. The office staff has been so friendly and helpful. By the way, my procedure was a success with great recovery.

I recently had gastric bypass with Dr. Joel Rodriguez on 5/27. Hr has to be one of the best surgeons EVER. Excellent bedside manner, checks on you constantly and is very nurturing. I’m a patient who resides in Dallas but went to have my surgery with Dr. Rodriguez and although I had a bariatric provider in Dallas, I have chosen to remain with Dr. Rodriguez in San Antonio. Now let’s talk about his team! Simply excellent! They provide 1st class customer service and check up on me constantly as well. They also cater to anything you need completed as far as forms and relaying messages to Dr. Rodriguez

This was the best decision I have ever made! I have tried losing weight and been successful but always gained it back. This has forced me to make life long changes and I am thrilled with the results. Dr. Rodriguez has been so kind from day 1. I always felt like he was listening and cared which is what I look for in a good doctor. He also was very good about following up after surgery. I’m very grateful for the amazing results of my bariatric surgery performed by Dr. Rodriguez in November of 2017. I had zero problems with the surgery and healed perfectly, even in the face of my chronic illnesses. He is an excellent surgeon. My entire experience from first consultation to now with my follow up appointments has been flawless. The only thing that’s a can be a little annoying is if my appointment is delayed or rescheduled due to Dr. Rodriguez being on call for emergency surgeries on some days. I realize that’s part of his job and unavoidable.

Having the Gastric Sleeve surgery has been the absolute best decision I've ever made. Linda is probably the nicest person I've ever met and Dr. Rodriguez has been nothing short of awesome. I had my surgery just 3 and half months ago and I've already lost a significant amount of weight. I feel more confident about myself and am feeling healthier every day that passes. I'm already down about 4-6 pant sizes depending on the brand. It makes me happy to know that this life changing decision has been one that I do not regret at all. I absolutely love this place! From meeting with Linda and Joel the very first day the were so nice and efficient. Dr. Joel Rodriguez preformed my surgery 12/26/18 and I have to say he is the very best!!! He made sure everything was as smooth as possible. My recovery was amazing I was in no pain. My scars healed properly and had no problems what so ever. Within days I was back to my normal self. I would also like to recognize the ladies in the front they were amazing and always so helpful.
