This used to my favorite dim sum place. So sad to see it going downhill during my recent visits. Some pastry and fried items came out cold. Lo sa bao is very disappointing compared to how it used to be. They never had tofu fa every time I went. Portions are smaller. I liked to take all my friends here but I won't do it anymore.

China Garden has proven to be one of the top in dim sum & Chinese cuisines in the DC metropolitan area. One opened near my home..
However, they need to man their phones well. It keeps ringing when I called & when I came to just to place the order in person, I expected the place to be busy. It isn’t. While waiting for the food, their phones must have rang ten times. No one answered the phone, Those were lost revenues. But omicron is rampaging, so they must be short in staff. Service staff however are very kind & their food excellent! They offered me hot soup while waiting. I hope they’ll do

After reading the various reviews, I was skeptical. We went during the week. So it was not crowded. We were greeted by a friendly host who sat us. And then we were followed up by another staff regarding our seating. We changed to a bigger table, which I am glad we did because of how much food we ordered.
Service was very good.
We had the following:
-Steamed shrimp dumplings
- Steamed shrimp dumplings fresh crab roe
-scallop dumplings
-chives dumplings
-chicken feet
-steam BBQ pork buns
-deep fried crab ball
-deep fried taro dumplings
-spare ribs with black bean
-custard tart
-pineapple buns

My family and I came here for Dim Sum. The dim sum are pretty basic yet real pricey. Though, the environment is better than other dim sum places around the area.
Downside:
I didn't know The crab balls were 2 for $10..... and the staff are quiet sneaky/pushy. She tried to give us 2 plates instead of 1. We had to tell her no more than once. She also tried to give us cold char siu buns when I had asked for another type of bun. I had to take it because my kids were hungry and I didn't want to cause a scene.
Standard:
Har gao
siu Mai
Chicken feet
Staked spare ribs

If I could I would give this a 0/5!
We came here for dinner and we were not pleased with our experience to say the least due to such poor and unprofessional service. One of the dishes we ordered had a piece a hair entangled in it. Two waitresses came to our table to ask how we were doing and I told them about it. Instead of apologizing for what happened, they falsely accused me, saying that it must be my hair!
I told them that it wasn't mine as the strand of hair was much shorter than mine, not to mention it wasn't even my hair color. I left it at that as I didn't want to argue

We got there towards the end of Dim Sum service (which often make a difference at Dim Sum places). They were very friendly, and the food was on-par with other Dim Sum. Nothing stood out as special, hence no fifth star, but it was good, quality Dim Sum in a great atmosphere. Plus free validated parking on the opposite side of Woodglen Dr.

This is was our first visit to China Garden for a birthday dim sum celebration on a Thursday afternoon. We parked at the open lot across the street. Take your parking ticket inside the restaurant to get free validation from a machine that is located on the left side of the hostess table.
It was not crowded, we were seated immediately. The dining room is large and beautifully decorated . Haven't seen a Chinese place like this in Maryland in a long time! The wait staff were all wearing masks and attentive.
There are no carts available, you will write down what dim sum you want to order

Week night dinner service was prompt and courteous. Menu orders an array of dumplings and other "Chinese" delights at a reasonable price. Service was fast, but we did not feel rushed. China Garden's food is on par with other similar restaurants in the area. The atmosphere was okay but not great. I still recommend it.

My first time eating here was for lunch with my two family members. We sat in the grand hall as soon as you enter. I also just need to point out how beautiful the interior of this place actually is. It's perfect for weddings especially weddings with a great feast and hours of dancing to follow! I reminisce those day...

Awesome experience. Certainly some of the best Chinese food and or Dim Sum I have had. Very long line for a reason. They had plenty of food carts for serving the large dining area and a very large selection of food. Bathroom was nice and seemed well taken care of.
Additionally they will validate your parking if you park in the parking lot across the street.

My family and I love to experience new taste to satisfied our palate. Friend told us about this restaurant and tries how is it. Well... we tried the dim sum and was very disappointed. Our table wasn't the only one frustrated. The services was very bad, the food cold wen its got to our table. I would give them great rating but 3 is fair.

It is an all day dim sum place with the authentic food from southern part of China. The restaurant is loud and lively. It is crowded and the waitresses/ waiters are busy running around. It gives me the true feelings of a dim sum breakfast back in China. If you have trouble with that, it is okay but I do wish Han Gong is going to be kept that way. There are plenty of quiet dinning places in DMV.

Came here for dinner a few nights ago after seeing that Lao Sze Chuan was fully booked. If you grew up in the DMV, you knew that China Garden was THE place to go. Whether it was for a family wedding, or Chinese New Year, the Rosslyn Location was poppin' back in the day.
Fast forward to 2021, China Garden has now relocated to North Bethesda and they now have a new restaurant called Han Palace in the Tysons area as their "new agey hip dim sum spot."
This was our first time eating at China Garden in YEARS and our first time at this location. I heard that when the location first opened

Nice alternative to far east dim sum if you don't like wait in the line for a long time. Their durian crispy isn't as good as the one in far east, but their new durian rice gluten bag is very tasty. All small dishes are authentic. The tofu sheet wrapped meat and vege is a must try. Environment is not too loud and suitable for family.

I've went here once when it just opened and the experience was pleasant, but after that I've been hearing bad things about Han Gong, whether it's Yelp or other social media. My groups and I were around Rockville and was looking for dim sums, and I suggested Han Gong because they've never tried Han Gong before. I told them about the bad reviews I've been hearing and they got scared (not gonna lie, I got scared too) but turns out they loved it. The dim sums here were delicious especially my fav short ribs and chicken feet. We've ordered plenty of dim sums and only one

Ordered plenty of Dim sum and they were all good. Idk why the rating is so low but our whole table loved 95% of the food. Love the taste and their service. Btw, the water chestnut wasn't on the menu but it wasn't busy so they decided to make it for me (my fav dim sum dessert).
The shrimp and roast pork crepe were fabulous ^.^ and my fav Dim sum dish was the black pepper short ribs, SO GOOD

Pretty good dim sum here! Came here Labor Day Monday for lunch and it was pretty crowded! There was a line but no organization or a waitlist to add names, you just had to stand in line and wait—luckily the wait was not too long. There’s usually a free parking lot across the street but the gate was broken so everyone had to park on the street.
They have dim sum carts that go around each table so you can pick your dishes. Prices are reasonable. The dim sum dishes we tried were good—favorites were the Shrimp Stuffed Crab Claws, Shumai, Hargow, and Shrimp Rice Noodles! The restaurant inside

This review is for the sister restaurant in Tyson's corner. Food came quickly (within 5-10 minutes of ordering) which was incredibly impressive. Dimsum was fine -- the roast pork and shrimp dumplings were great, the shumai and chive dumplings less so. The fish & lotus root dish was AMAZING. Planning to come back; had a wonderful first time.

Disgusting. I found a worm swimming through my food.
Once I brought it to their attention, they took my plate before I could take a picture. I was with a table of 10 people. We all lost our appetite after that and asked for the tab. We didn't even eat the remaining dishes on our table and they expected me to pay a tab of $240 (with 18% tip). I'm at shock that I even had to pay tip that was automatically applied... or for the fact I had to pay for a worm in my food. Currently traumatized. Thanks but I DO NOT recommend this place.

We were initially attracted by the all day dimsum from 11-8p, however there are better places for dimsum than China Garden.
The service was quite poor - our waiters kept switching and it seemed the two were not communicating to each other. Our waters got refilled once. Halfway through still asking a question or talking, the waiter would begin to walk away. The restaurant was maybe only 30% full, but he sat us right next to two large families when there were plenty of other open tables. When we asked to be slightly distanced, he told us that all the tables were the same. Additionally, we never

This place was packed on a Sunday and it was a great experience. First time going to a Dim Sum restaurant, and I have to say I am very pleased and happy that we went to try it out. The black dim sum with gold layering was a sweet treat and a lot of others were extremely tasty. I would definitely come again as this place was fantastic.

We've only had the dim sum from here and they can be hit or miss. When we would dine in pre-COVID, the food was generally good but service was often the issue. Now with COVID, we've been doing take out - and the food remains consistent but we haven't really had to deal with service too much which makes the experience honestly much better.
We always get...
Steamed Shrimp Dumpling
Steamed Scallop Dumpling
Bean Curd with Oyster Sauce
Steamed Chicken Feet
Beef Tripe with Scallion & Ginger (This can be hit or miss)
Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaves
Pan-Fried Turnip Cake

I really wanted to like this place unfortunately I couldn't. Came here for dim sum, they were pushing the carts around. I got the har gow, shuimai, chicken feet, tripe, turnip cake, bean curd wrapped bamboo shoots, pig buns, roast duck, shrimp noodles and soy sauce noodles. Besides the har gow and shumai the other dishes were mediocre. I have to save each one I ate I had better elsewhere. The pig buns seem to be stuffed with egg yolk. It was plain nothing really to advertise about. My total bill was about $65, the price unfortunately wasn't worth it for the food. I wouldn't recommend

I really like this place when seeking Chinese and dim sum cuisine in South Rockville. This place is huge, nicely decorated, and great for family gatherings pre and hopefully post Covid. They have a large outdoor parking lot that is free for diners.
Their Peking duck is great, like Far East and George's Hot Pot. No need to head to VA for duck. Their food isn't salty like other places, which is a plus.
With covid-19 they slimmed down their menu considerably. With that being said, they still focus on their awesome dim sum menu. Again it's limited but I think they have all of the
