Poolman
Poolman officially opened its doors in 1964 with a vision of becoming the largest swimming pool cleaning service company in Arizona. The goal was an insatiable focus on customer service, something that didn't exist in The Valley. By 1993, Poolman had over 1,200 customers and smaller companies wanted to join the Poolman team.

Several acquisitions/partnerships took place throughout the years, and our customer-first attitude was transferred to our growing account base of 2,500 in just a few short years. Poolman was and continues to be an innovator in the residential and commercial maintenance business, with the introduction of gas chlorine in 1993, which was shipped from California by rail, and the highly touted Salt Generator System program introduced in 2008.

Having read many of the other reviews, my only consolation is that I'm not alone in my complete disgust with Poolman.

I took over this account when I inherited my Dad's house after his passing five years ago. I didn't know the monthly payment amount so I paid $50/month for quite some time until I asked for an accounting and learned the payment was closer to $40. I had accumulated a credit balance of $341. Then in August 2021, I received a notice that the monthly payment was increasing from $40 to $75, or nearly 100% increase. I chose to continue with Poolman because I had decent

Service went from weekly, to bi-weekly, and now prices have doubled? I am on a salt system which requires very little maintenance. I was paying about $55 and now the price went to $125. No skimming, no vacuuming, they literally just check the chemicals every 14 days! I will be finding someone who does FULL service for the exact same price! Oh and don't get me started on billing. Like the other comments, Poolman switched online payment systems and I was on auto pay. I received a bill for over $600 (which I paid, but asked to be put BACK on auto pay), fast forward.....and I received another

I have been with Poolman for 18 years. The prices keep going up and the service stays the same. Next month my salt water pool will cost $110 a month to service and salt water pool requires very little maintenance. The new payment link doesn't work well and the accounting department may or may not get back to you. I I will be looking elsewhere which I think I'd so sad after so many years

I originally called Poolman for prices on servicing my pool and wasn’t impressed so I went with a different company that I was very happy with. Unfortunately Poolman bought that company. Since the purchase they have not provided me with any proof that I have agreed to use their service, they make extremely rude calls demanding money yet can’t or won’t provide any type of billing statement or signed agreement to use their service. When they did come out they didn’t have the proper equipment and had to use mine. They have back washed my pool multiple times down the side of my house without

Hi reader!
Quick overview: (if you want to skip the detail paragraphs)
Jon, a repair technician of Poolman, is the main reason for my 5 stars. Although, Poolman itself has a great platform and ease of scheduling, the most important part of a business like this is their customer service and knowledge at the ground level. Jon provided that and beyond!
Anyway, I moved into property that came with a pool. I love the idea of the pool and I sure love when my friends have a pool! Somewhere I can go hang out, maybe enjoy a BBQ and then leave without having to worry about the bacteria we just bombed

We have been with Poolman for a very long time. They have a great deal where you get a leased salt system, but when something goes wrong, the follow up takes so long, the customer agents are rude, they do not show up when they say they are going to, and are ill equipped to fix issues or don't know how. We had our monthly price increased $30 per month to balance all of our chemicals due to chemical shortages. Yet, my pool keeps turning green and because it takes them so long to get back to me we have to buy more chemicals and fix the pool ourselves. Then they had a technician come out and fix our

Do not walk, RUN AWAY. We had Poolman about 1.5 years. They took over our contract with pineapple. We had a constant problem with the water level. Our auto fill was replaced probably six times. The aerator never worked nor was the broken head replaced. Twice I found algae that our weekly service tech missed (both times he didn't see it). Had a bucket test performed because our water level was low but the service tech put in his report our water level was good. Had billing set up on auto pay. They changed systems, didn't collect, and charged me a late fee. When you call, you never get

I just watched one of your technicians sit in front of my house for 10 minutes and I guarantee you that when I call I will hear these words, " looks like they rung the door bell twice and no one was home." Someone is ALWAYS home, and no. No one rings the doorbell. We've even asked for double measure of proof of your incompetence that you call when you've arrived. No calls. No doorbell ring. No door knock. It's been about a month now that we haven't been able to use our pool because it is filthy. We've had to cancel a birthday get together, we can't sit in our backyard to relax because the now swamp

Service in Phoenix from Poolman is horrible and the customer service is even worse. Serviceman never clean the pump basket and burned up my pump.
When you try to contact them you never get a person only a voice mail and they never return the calls especially if it's a complaint. I left several messages it wasn't until I went on Facebook and blasted them that I received a call. Sent a repairman out to change the pump. But now I can't get ahold of them again not even to cancel service. I no longer want them on my property and not to charge my credit card. But no call back!!!

I have been using Poolman for about 7 years now for 2 properties. They were always very reliable and communicative but over the last year the company has changed dramatically. I have had poor service, it is impossible to reach anyone at the company and they do not seem to communicate well with each other. Leaves are left at the bottom of the pool after cleaning, they don’t take away the leaves that were fished from the pool so they just blow right back in when he’s gone. They keep raising prices for less quality work. I added a fountain to be cleaned at our property and was paying a lot of

I have been a Poolman customer for 7 years and my home was previously serviced by them prior to my purchase. Generally, I've had a pretty good experience. However, their service has deteriorated beyond recovery in the past 6 months, to the point of my ultimate decision to cancel.
I've been on a salt (chemical) only service which includes maintenance of my water chemistry, but does not include brushing, backwashing, baskets, etc. I maintain the filters, sweeping, and skimming. At times, I've been unable to do this and have opted to pay Poolman to vacuum or clean the pool fully. I've had a few green

I feel bad for Waylon for having to respond to all of these. Similarly I have had the same issue as many others with the billing. I got a bill in the mail saying I owe roughly $650 even though I am on auto pay...... when I called they said they sent an email saying they changed payment systems, I didn't get the email, they email me every week to let me know what my chemical levels are so I know they have my correct email.
IN ALL FAIRNESS, they provided me service for 6 months and I didn't pay for it, so I do owe them the money and I will not argue this fact. The frustration comes form

Update: finally got thru and they explained this happened to every customer by mistake however, I couldn't even speak to a manager to ask follow up questions. SELECT ANOTHER PROVIDER FOLKS.

Decided to leave this review during my 30+ minute wait on hold with Poolman. While our pool technician has been good, this was only after an initial complaint when we realized he spent around 5 minutes "cleaning" our pool- leaving debris unskimmed and the basket not emptied. This was verified by our outdoor cameras.

My biggest complaint is Poolman's lack of communication and customer service

So many poor reviews and for good reason! I too have been a long-time customer of more than 13 years and have been increasingly frustrated. I have been charged for service I did not receive. I can never get through customer service. And my billed has been raised significantly.

Worst of all, I don't get the service I pay for, My pool is completely cloudy.

I’ve had poolman for one month. In my 4 weeks of service they did not show up once, and twice now have left the pool dirty. I mistakenly chose to use their salt water premier service. These pictures were taken within a half hour of the tech leaving my pool today. They are terrible at answering calls as well. If this looks like premier pool service to you, then poolman is a great company!
Update: they sent a manager out and then had the pool tech come out again. I’ve added another picture to show the impeccable job they do on their 3rd attempt to clean the pool.

I have had pool man for 4 years now and for the most part service has been decent (4 star) but recently I came back from a work trip and noticed that the salt cell pig tail had broken (their part). Having this part break caused my pool to run dry for two or three days. It took them three days to get a tech out to fix it. Once the tech fixed it they said that my pool pump was fried and took zero responsibility. I'm not ingnorant when it comes to pools so having a pump run dry for three days will cause the motor to overheat and short (which is what happened). Their only solution was to have me pay

I do NOT recommend working with Poolman. I am a new home owner, and the previous home owner had setup the salt water system for the pool. They told us we just needed to call Poolman to transfer over the service and keep the salt water system for only $52 a month. Keep in mind that the only reason we set up/transferred service was so that we could have the salt water system (this is important for later in the story).

So, I called to transfer the service and the customer service representative quickly told me they no longer offer the $52 a month service, and tried to upsell me to the premier service

I signed up for Poolman around 2015 after turning my pool green a few times. A friend recommended them to me and I signed up for their Salt Water system plan. I sold the house in 2018 and bought a new home in 2019. The first call I made when I closed on my new house was to Poolman. I knew I could trust them to take this burden and stress off my plate. Recently with Covid-19 I had a lot more time on my hands and could have started taking care of my pool again in order to save some money. However, I trust the technician they send to my house every week and see him go above and beyond to make sure
