Bob Strong, the founder of EnviroTest has more than 40 years construction and environmental testing experience. A native of Portland, Oregon, Bob spent twenty years in the U.S. Coast Guard gaining much of his construction knowledge as well as specializing in marine environmental protection. After returning to civilian life, he studied for and passed the test to become a licensed general contractor.

1000 ft or less of material being removed requires three (3) samples of each different surfacing material. 1000 ft - 5000 ft of material being removed requires five (5) samples of each different surfacing material. Various compounds: window glazing, adhesives, caulks, patching, mastics, vapor barrier products (plastic or synthetic materials such as Tyvek are exempt).

I recently purchased a 1924 home in Portland. Knowing that older homes can often have asbestos lurking around but not much more, I decided to call Envirotest to have them come out and do some testing in my home. I spoke with a man named Bob, one of the owner(s) I believe. Aside from being the nicest fellow you ever want to talk to, he was very informative. He spent quite a bit of his time on the phone with me answering questions, offering advice and instructing me on how to do some safe sampling that I could take to a lab and save myself some money. There was absolutely no charge for this. Wow

Had a great experience using Enviro Test. I’m a first time homebuyer and wanted to test popcorn ceiling for asbestos. I called to set up an appointment and Kandi was very friendly, provided lots of great info, and was able to get me set up for a survey appointment in no time. The person doing the test was able to answer my questions. The test results came back very promptly. Would recommend!

I work for an Investment firm that owns several properties. We had a unit with a fire, and it needed to be tested for asbestos before we could demo and finish the work on it. I called Kandi at EnviroTest, and she had initial tests back same day. Additionally, she encouraged me to take the PPM (Particle test) to see if some of our samples could be brought down under 1%, and even paid for half of them. She was extremely helpful, prompt and will 10/10 recommend her to anyone with similar needs!

My church is planning to host homeless families and children in an underutilized space in our building. I had gone to another company for testing some acoustic ceiling and vinyl flooring samples and mistakenly called EnviroTest to see about scheduling abatement. Bob informed me that they didn’t actually do abatement. But rather than just tell me to have a nice day and hang up, he went on to explain the test results that I had received from another company. I had misinterpreted the test results. He sent links for further information and really helped us out. And he didn’t make a dime from the time he spent with me! I could not recommend this company more. I was getting popcorn ceilings scraped and some drywall demolition done and needed info regarding asbestos testing and where to potentially expect to find asbestos. Bob is incredibly knowledgeable and was always willing to spend the time to answer questions and make sure I knew what to expect. Bob's integrity and prompt communication was really invaluable while I planning and approaching this project.
