Bone and gum tissue should fit snugly around teeth like a turtleneck around your neck. When you have periodontal disease, this supporting tissue and bone is destroyed, forming "pockets" around the teeth. Over time, these pockets become deeper, providing a larger space for bacteria to live. As bacteria develop around the teeth, they can accumulate and advance under the gum tissue.

I was so scared about the entire dental implant process but EVERYONE in Dr. Heatons office was amazing. Literally while I was having two teeth removed the sweet nurse wiped my tears comforting me because this was a HUGE deal to me. Dr. Heaton and his entire staff is amazing. You can tell he really cares about his patients as does his staff. I cannot say enough good about him and his practice. If you have any needs that Dr. Heaton can work on you are in excellent hands!

I had to have some minor gum surgery and was referred to Dr. Heaton by my regular Dentist. From the moment I stepped into the office for my initial visit to when I left after my surgical procedure, I was completely impressed with the friendly competence of his staff, and his warm, friendly and professional manner and demeanor. There was no stress, no drama, no waiting, no pain, and not a single negative problem. Only one day later, I frankly don't even have a sensation that any work was done; he was that competent and (seriously) pain-free. I cannot recommend Dr. Heaton (and his staff) more highly

I visited the office for the first time and the staff was absolutely wonderful! I was greeted with smiles and great conversation as I waited for my consultation! The doctor was very professional and knowledgeable about my procedure that had to be done and made me feel compfortable putting my smile in his hands! I recommend!
