For some reason, people think fishermen like to tell stories. Well, our fishermen don't. While all the other crabbers and captains were packed into the local bar boozing and swapping sea tales, ours were back home, playing with spices and boiling the best of their fresh catch for the family. Ok, they were probably drinking too.
We haven't been telling our story since 2004, but we do write it down almost every day. It's written in Sha-bang sauce all over your bib and with beer spilt across the table. Every face in here has our story written on it in smiles and smears. Because the best stories aren't just told, they're tasted and lived.

What was a generations-old family business of crabbers and fishermen in a small Texas town, became the original Cajun seafood boil restaurant on the West Coast. The Boiling Crab is often imitated, but never duplicated (not even close). As we expand our corporate-owned locations across the United States, we're also looking to bring our unique and delicious dining experience to cities around the globe - as international franchises.

Pregnancy craving win! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted outside with temp and vax card check then quickly seated. They even set-up the highchair for baby tucked neatly at the corner of the table. Brandon was an attentive server, super nice, and quick to respond to our table's needs.
We love TBC and thank sweet baby Jesus we don't need to drive 3 hrs from Reno to San Jose to get it anymore! We get the same order every time. Can't change what's not broken :).

Let us wait and never give us a table . I arrived at 8:30pm, get on the wait list. The staff never let you know whether they have a table. I waited till store closed and they didn’t get us a table. Very disrespectful people. I left crying. No matter how good the food is, I am never going there because of how they threat people.I will rather go to somewhere with okay food but respect you that make you have an enjoyable dining experience.

My son recommended to try new food!
Here what we had tonight:
Dungeness crab combo $75
WHOLE Dungeness crab!!
All combo comes with 1/2 lb shrimps, 1/2 lb clams, 1/2 lb mussels, sausage, potatoes, corns, and rices.
Additional 1lb crawfish $MKT Price $16/per lb as of 12/13/2021
Overall we all had fun and enjoyed their fresh seafood with delicious sauce!
Definitely comeback soon!!

Ver fresh seafood! We love spicy and the medium was spicy enough!!! The ambience was great and you really felt comfortable as they adhere to COVID protocols. The crab fries really added a great touch to the main course, but certainly filled us up. We got the king crab combo and it was enough for two people. Definitely will come back!

We especially love outdoor restaurants due to COVID, so thought it was safe to venture here for our first family of nine-people dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday. And they did a great job - checked vaccinations cards, temperatures, and addresses for contact tracing, super easy joining Yelp's waiting list (I think this is the first time I've tried this feature, and I LOVE the ease and convenience!!), and menu available through their QR code taking you to their website: https://theboilingcrab.com/menu/honolulu/.

We got the crawfish boil, which also had shrimp, clams, mussels, clams, potatoes and andouille sausage and rice.
While all the proteins were succulent and flavourful, I'm always a sucker for the sweetness of the corn
We got it with medium level spice, and flavoured with "the whole shabang - our go to.
Still hoping to find a bit more of a Viet-Cajun style boil on Island, but this is the next best thing.

My first time at a crab boil place! I loved the atmosphere. They play the BEST music which makes the whole experience so much fun. Since it was my first time, I basically gave the reigns to our server and let him tell us what to get. We went with the king crab combo and the soft shell crab plate.
Few things:
I don't think this is my style. Having dirty hands was driving me crazy.
We needed more cracking utensils and maybe better quality ones. The king crab leg shells weren't as hard as usual so it was very difficult to crack. This meant we spent a lot of time fighting the crab and lost

Service is great. Place is clean. Employees are very attentive to your needs. Wait line is organized. My server had so much patience especially being my son’s first time there he is 11 years old. I forgot my servers name but he worked tables by bathrooms and he’s tall. I was there 10/07/21 @ 8 pm To him and all the staff great job

The first place we went to where they eat crab like this!!! I'm not a huge fan of crab because I hate cracking it hahha but when my friends cracked it, most of it came out in one clean piece!! I did try some and it was delicious!!! I live the Cajun sauce and with rice omg. Pour that over your rice!! Lol the clams, mussels, and shrimps are really good too!!! We also got lobster which was pretty pricy I think around $30 per tail but it was soooo yummy!!! For 4 people we got the king crab combo and added on a few other things with 2 drinks ended up being $70 per person which was better than I

EAT HERE! This may be my first 5 star review and The Boiling Crab absolutely deserves it. Way more than just a meal, this place gives you an authentic, immersive seafood experience.
Delicious seafood platter is served in bags that you dump onto the table and eat with your hands! They've got a sink and wet wipes for after and you're wearing a bib so you can forget all your troubles as you demolish a seriously tasty meal and feel like a kid again.
Can't wait to visit again.

Easy 5 stars. I have the opinion that every single person living in Oahu must come and eat at the boiling crab. It is a true food experience using your hands, getting messy, and enjoying flavorful well seasoned food.
We got the lobster tail combo with a side of crab fries. We loved every bite. We loved the mussels especially. The lobster tail is quite good. I feel like most time some seafood is forgettable or just texture, but this had structure and flavor. Everything comes on the shell so it's fun to dig in and dissect.

Hawaii is known for seafood and how fresh our products are which is why I think that the Boiling Crab does a perfect job of keeping this reputation and serving locals and visitors an amazing dish whether it would be their fried shrimp baskets to their seafood boils that smell and taste delicious!

Had dinner here tonight with my bf.. We usually go to San Diego for this. Here on a vacay so we were craving for some boiling crab.. We had deep fried oysters that comes with Cajun fries for appetizer, crawfish, mussels, and snow crab legs. Man oh man everything tasted good! We finished everything!! We had two servers, they were both great, and checked on us often which is what I love! Will be back when I visit Hawaii again : )

While on our way, I put my party down on their Yelp Waitlist, which I highly recommend! I put our names down around 7:00 p.m. and for a Monday the wait was 60-90 minutes. It said our table would be ready for 8:30 p.m. We got to The Boiling Crab around 7:40 p.m. and I called them to notify we were there and if they could squeeze us in before our predicted time.
