Dr. Barsanti grew up on California's North Coast and graduated summa cum laude from Humboldt State University before attending UCLA and graduating magna cum laude with her dental degree. Since the beginning of her dental career, Dr. Barsanti's focus has been on educating patients and on giving back to the community by spending time at community health fairs and mobile clinics that treat the underserved.
As a new patient, your first appointment will include a comprehensive exam, x-rays and a consultation with our office manager. We will answer all your questions, as well as go over your suggested treatment plan, pricing options and will help you schedule any future appointments. This dentist office is amazing. They take the time to make you feel comfortable and address all of your concerns. They are very thorough with your care while being conscious of costs. Everyone was so pleasant, professional and competent. I've been through 3 dentists locally and each one had issues from scheduling to staffing to unprofessional to lack of competence and I'm glad to finally have found the first one that doesn't have any of those flaws

After moving here to Humboldt County we were on the lookout for a good dentist office. After calling around we discovered it's going to be a challenge to get an appointment at any dentist office in the area.
Luckily The Barsanti Dental Group didn't take that long to be seen.
Once seen I was directed back to the Hygienist (Danielle) ... her quality of care was impeccable.
Incredibly kind, friendly and fun!

Read some of the mixed reviews and; honestly, I'm shocked. Visiting this dental office for the first time was definitely the most positive dental experience I've ever had.
Danielle was my hygienist and she was incredibly knowledgable, gentle and just overall pleasant.
Dr. Barsanti was very informative, clear and concise with next steps for treatment. I feel very confident in placing my dental health in her obviously well educated and experienced care.
I am absolutely impressed that with the limited options we have for care in our county we have something of this high caliber!

Horrible! I had my appointment set for 6 months, I show up and they tell me that there was a schedule conflict and I was pushed out of my appt and that they had called me. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED. Then trying to reschedule the front desk girl told me they had no availability until 4 months out with a tone as if it's my fault that we are rescheduling. I am a single mother who took time off work (losing money) to show up and be treated like I was in the wrong! Furious! Absolutely horrible!!!

Although you will receive exceptional care, be prepared to overpay on just about everything. Make sure you deny all the extra additions they will try to sell you, alot like buying a used car from a disreputable dealership. The staff is very friendly, however, appear to be pretty disorganized. Definitely better dentists in the area, avoid this one.

Made an appointment about a year ago. Yep. A YEAR OUT. Got a call telling me that they could get us in for an appointment in September, but, as of OCTOBER 30th we were going to be out of network for our insurance GEHA. I told them I would take the appointment and we would just have to move quickly because my husband REALLY needed to get in. Came here for 3 year me and my family of four never had issues now this new doc is there and I can't get nothing done for my daughter who is in alot of pain nothing is helping her. They made us come in to tell us what we already knew and paid 100 bucks for it. Worst dentist experience i’ve had. Incredibly unprofessional and condescending office manager. I requested the dental assistant not go forward with special treatment so I could get a second opinion, they did it anyway and then demanded I pay the hefty fee at the end. Tried to fear monger saying I would lose my teeth down the road if I didn’t get treatment now. Got a second opinion, and the other dentist agreed I never had the issue regarding treatment to begin with.

Horrible. She ground down a healthy tooth so it would fit a new crown, rather than grind the crown. Now I have a literal nub for a tooth, but hey, that's convenient when she offers to place a new crown on that tooth next time. I had the worst dental pain of my life after leaving that office because of this, and now over a month later, it is still really sensitive to hot and cold and throbs after eating even moderately chilled drinks. Wrote a detailed email explaining the situation to Barsanti and got no response back from her. Yeah, wonder why there is no waiting list for this office?

I've been a patient of Dr. Barsanti for over 9 years. I've endured her business plan and over charging for every appointment. The final straw was the $12 fee for every appointment added due to Covid. Not covered by insurance. This was over the top in my opinion. I can get 2, N95 masks, a pair of rubber gloves and some hand sanitizer for under 5 bucks. Retail. Seems like they should be buying in bulk and getting these safety items for much less. And passing that savings to their customers. I am simply tired of being ripped off. The motto of this office should be "Every tooth, a profit center!" Kaching! Tthe protocol here, the system, or however this business is designed mimics being at a bad sales event, with pushy, irritating sales folks gatekeeping for the hidden dentist. Make no mistake, this is a business first, dental care is secondary. First I had to deal with a rigid office manager who brought me into her office like a salesperson to go over everything wrong with many of my teeth in a mechanical voice. Today they wanted to charge me $5 for a disposable mask, in addition to the extra $12 they are already charging for PPE. Although the service is good, I find that in general their prices are exorbitant. Considering the price of their services, masks should be a courtesy and not another business opportunity. Dr. Barsanti messed up a filling and drilled half of my tooth away! I had to have it fixed by another dentist! Do not let her touch your teeth! She will put you on a gingivitis cleaning plan when you dont have gingivitis. Shes just trying to get you to pay her $120 every 3 months for a cleaning. I had nearly perfect teeth until she touched my teeth. Now Im having problems with that same tooth she messed up! I will have to have it pulled or root canal. She even said that when she messed up. She said that she went too deep and almost hit the root and that I will probably need a root canal on that

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience!!! My son attends college in the area and chipped his front tooth. When he called the only dentist in our network to book an appointment he was told that they were not available until October 2020.
I then called hoping for a different outcome when speaking with the office manager and was told the same thing. In fact she was quite rude and told me to check elsewhere.

We were customers of Ronald Barsanti, DDS before he gave his practice to his daughter-in-law Trish Barsanti. We were told how wonderful she was in school and we were hopeful that his practice was begin given to a great dentist.
We were so very wrong!
Not only did she find thousands of dollars worth of work needing to be done (which was not necessary!), she wanted to have all of my spouse's teeth extracted by an oral surgeon.
Needless to say we went elsewhere for another opinion.
Nothing needed to be done in my case; spouse's case was entirely different too.
Stay far away unless you

Overpriced, and twice tried to trick me into signing a form where I'd be agreeing to thousands of dollars in charges, claiming the signature was "just to show that you'd received the estimate". Still flabbergasted on that one. I went in for a tooth that's on the verge of breaking apart. I got no temporary help offered, no temporary filling or crown - so my teeth are clean now (nice hygenists!) but I'm out a serious chunk of change already: over $400...and my basic issue is still not fixed. Do yourself a favor - unless you can afford $5000 for 2 crowns and some fillings

I have never been so mistreated as a patient before, than I have at this dentist office. The way the staff treated my husband and myself was blatantly rude, and they lacked all empathy. I can see from other posts in this site and others that I am not the only one who has encountered harsh and rude treatment from their office manager . If a "negative" star rating was available, I would use it.

Dr. Barsanti and her staff are amazing. As a new patient with horrible past experiences elsewhere I neglected to get dental check ups and cleanings. I explained my history and they were understanding and… accomodating to my needs and wants without treating me like I was a horrible person who didn't care about her dental health. Each visit was a success which kept me coming back. I finished my periodontal treatments which for me was an amazing feat but I only kept coming back because of the caring and kind treatment I received. I only wish I could go here for all my medical needs because good doctors are HARD to come by in this area! Whole staff is friendly, professional, and makes you feel at ease. They give you a plan of action that you can follow and give reminder calls when you make appointment. My husband and I are sad to leave Dr.Barsanti and her crew in Arcata. We just moved down to the Bay Area and wish we could stay with Dr.Barsanti. First, Dr.Barsanti is the first dentist I've been to who actually educated me on proper flossing, brushing, and other teeth care. I've seen tons of dentists and she is the first to actually educate me so that I can prevent cavities and gum disease, and not brush my gums away (I never knew I was brushing too hard).
