Fuel is a comfortable Caribbean inspired eatery in the heart of downtown Charleston serving up jerk chicken sandwiches, burgers and fries, fish tacos, fresh salads and tons of cheap beer and frozen rum drinks. Located in an old filling station, Fuel opened its doors in 2008. The design seeks to honor the buildings blue collar history with fully functioning garage doors and custom gas pump light fixtures.

Great spot to grab a bite to eat at. It's been visited by Guy Fieri and rumor has it also partly owned by Bill Murray.
Great atmosphere both inside and outside. Outside offers a backyard feel with corn hole and heaters for cooler days. Also dog friendly!
The pork tacos were tasty and piled high! Definitely didn't skimp on the quantity of food they offer on the tacos.
If you're looking for a neighborhood feel spot to take your friends, family, or pups, consider this ok'd gas station as your food choice.

We got in late and this place was only 5 minutes walking from where we were staying. Nice little neighborhood restaurant with delicious food and large outdoor patio. First time having boiled peanuts, loved them. House margarita and local IPA was good too. Roasted Chicken Tacos were loaded and tasted fabulous. Shrimp Tacos not as full but fiancé was happy with them, really great sauce.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. We ordered mango BBQ wings, a cantina classic, and a fried flounder sandwich. Everything was cooked to perfection. The prices were incredibly reasonable for the portions we were given. The server who helped us was kind and attentive. Not to mention the atmosphere was awesome. The old gas station theme was what drew us in to begin with. We will definitely be coming back!!

Fuel is a surprisingly good restaurant. It doesn't look like much from the outside--like an old gas station.
When you step inside, it doesn't look much better, but if you ask to be seated outside, you step into a pretty cool place. With shaded seating and outdoor games, it's a nice place to hang out.
I got pork nachos and they were good not great. I would probably round my overall review to a 3.5. Our waitress was good, nachos were average.

Initially my husband and I were hesitant to try Fuel because the reviews were mixed, however, we had dinner recently and it was really good! The large, outdoor covered patio is casual and relaxed and our servers were friendly and attentive. The beer list included a nice variety of beers on tap, wine and mixed drinks. My husband ordered the black bean burger and said it was one of the best he'd had in Charleston. I had a bite and it was perfectly spiced and had a lot of melty yummy cheese. I ordered the salad with mango, strawberries, cashews and fried goat cheese. All of the ingredients were

This was one of my favorite restaurants we visited in Charleston! It’s and old file station converted to a restaurant…so cool! The food was delicious, service was great and the ambiance was unique and awesome! The street corn was so good and the taco fries were also amazing! I was surprised at the amount of flavor in my rice bowl and the added texture from the topping made it extra delicious, though the fresh salsa definitely made the dish! I also got a Paloma which was fantastic. Such a good stop!

Shout out to Bianca for being such an awesome server. Perfect service, great conversation, very helpful, and welcomed us all to Charleston at our first stop from the airport. The food and drinks were amazing. The chorizo nachos were sooo delicious, great mango guacamole, delicious veggie queso dip, and the tacos were huge. We couldn't possibly finish our entrees after demolishing all the great apps.

Fuel is a restaurant in an old gas station. The ambiance is relaxed and casual, and the servers are friendly and attentive. They have indoor seating, outdoor seating in an open garden patio area out back, and a bar in the center that can be accessed from either side.
There was no line, and we were seated quickly at an inside table near the bar. There were several TVs around showing mostly sports.
They had a wide selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks and beers. We ordered some drinks and a chips and dip appetizer that included four different dips. The chips had an Interesting dry spice on

Food was delicious. We ordered the shrimp tacos, chicken tacos, plantains, and taco fries. Everything was tasty and warm when we picked up and took it home.
The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because it was a bit difficult to order. Online ordering wasn't enabled and when we called, the phone was disconnected. We had to drove there and order our food to-go. The worker didn't seem phased when We told her that the phone and online ordering were down. A bit weird.

I wanna start this off by saying I would've given this 3 stars but whoever is the guy in charge of trivia on Sundays made me laugh the whole entire time so because of him I'm giving this 4 stars. The food was subpar, the service was so slow and terrible.
The food was alright, wasn't anything special at all. We ordered the mahi tacos and a rice bowl. The tacos were okay but they put a ridiculous amount of cabbage on the taco to hide the fact you don't get a lot of meat on the taco. For $13 you would expect at least 3 tacos but you only get 2 with a small side of either corn

Visited this spot while on a bachelorette in Charleston this past weekend! We had such a great time here grabbing a late lunch and happy hour. All the food was so good and the drinks were even better. We ordered the nachos and salsa sampler to start and for meals we had mahi tacos, shrimp tacos, and the salad. Only complaint was that service was very slow, (coming from a NJ/NY group of girls) and the sweet potato fries came out very over done, but overall our server was amazing and offered to split the bill for us even down to shared meals which was amazing. Would definitely stop by here again

You know how it goes; open Yelp and scroll for 5-7 minutes while HANGRY...we landed on Fuel because the fish taco options spoke to me. It's a cool space; sit on the back patio! We had a mid-afternoon lunch on Sunday before heading home from a quick weekend trip in CHS, and this meal was good (no wait). Started with spicy boiled peanuts (my fave, but I know they are polarizing) and the street corn; this was good, messy of course and should be served with a clean long strand of dental floss, but we enjoyed it. Nice draft beer selection with local options. For our entrees we went with crispy

Amazing service and fresh, delicious food! We ordered the guacamole appetizer, but the kitchen told our server that the guacamole wasn't ready yet, so she made it for us herself. I had the rice bowl with grilled snapper and it was both flavorful and filling. I also loved the vibe of the covered outdoor patio. I'll definitely be back!

We stopped in on a Friday night, and there was a super long wait so we decided to come back another time. We ended up here on Easter Sunday around 5 p.m. Because they were so busy before I called to make a reservation at 3:15p for 5 o'clock. The person who answered the phone gave me super attitude: "Just so you know we don't take reservations less than two hours in advance, but I'll do it for you this time because we're not that busy." Gee, thanks. The place was dead when we arrived, a couple tables on the patio, no one inside except a few patrons at the bar.
