We were downgraded to a house half the size 3 weeks before our arrival. Our party is 11 people so the 50% smaller house decreased our value a lot more than the tiny partial refund and required my son to sleep on an air mattress. It’s Covid so these things happen but…. On arrival the house was dirty and with out basic necessities such as; broom, vacuum, mop, dish towels, working grill, enough linen, or laundry detergent. The stove is broken, the toaster only half works and the laundry is so small it only holds three towels.

Will not answer the phone or email once you’ve booked. Kiawah is so not the resort it used to be. Loud obnoxious mowers, trimmers, blowers all daylong. Restaurants and retail have attitude. Bicycle rentals are not maintained. Most of the villas are now run down. As a renter you get bathroom and kitchen “starter supplies” consisting of enough TP, dish soap, trash bags, and laundry soap only for a couple days. My last two visits involved my villa not being cleaned and ready for checkin despite my arriving 1.5 hours after stated checkin hours. I think I’m using my future tourism dollars elsewhere

This unit is bug infested. Throughout our stay, the number of bugs and size of the bugs grew increasingly worse. We understand bugs are common on Kiawah Island and killing a bug or two inside a property isn't unusual, so we did not bring this problem to management's attention immediately. The last two nights we killed about 30 bugs and 3 were cockroaches/Palmetto bugs. I called the rental office to report our concerns and asked to be compensated for our inconvenience. The woman grew very defensive and stated we did not give them a chance to fix the situation. I explained we were on vacation and

Rented from Pam Harrington this week and has been a horrible experience. The after hours agent “beth” was less than apologetic about the fact we had a broken glass top stove with shards of glass that were dangerous for anyone trying to use. We had one burner for the entire week. The place was filthy with grease dripping down the wall behind the… exhaust vent. Did I mention there was no filter or cover on that? Fingers cut there. The floor was so filthy that if you walked barefoot the bottom of your feet were black. The home was unkempt and Beth blamed it on the owner. I thought

Was a housekeeper here and reason the rooms look in clean or have sand and hair everywhere because the people in charge are very rude and apparently don’t want the houses cleaned properly.. they rush you and expect you to have laundry washed and laid out plus house cleaned and the laundry alone takes up to 3 hours to even get washed and dried !! Very Very unprofessional and then they wonder why renters complain about hair being left behind or sand !!!

The Windswept Villa rentals are not worth it. I paid $3000/week for a tiny 1 bedroom only to arrive to find no toilet paper, no dishwashing or dishwasher detergent, many lights that do not work, cheap towels, a very dangerous (and old) stove - indeed, the entire condo was old and very dated. It is clear the owners and management company are attempting to maximize profit with as little investment/maintenance as possible. And renters for anywhere on Kiawah should be told prior to arrival that they are second class citizens. Only property owners are allowed in the many pools, and the docks are also

I would give zero stars if that was an option.
After signing a rental agreement they changed check-in and check-out times on us. Check in was later and check out was 8am. After calling and asking for a later check out time (we had late flights) the lady we spoke with was very rude and said it was a luxury they were open during this pandemic.
Keep in mind we paid $9,300 for one week.
-We were greeted the first day with 2 cockroaches. One in the kitchen and one in bathtub.
-There we no comforters on any of the beds, only $10 blankets from Walmart.
-One towel per person, we had 12 people and

104 Surfscoter is a beautiful home. However, don’t rent unless you’re ok with not being able to check in on time. I rented this house for my family who was driving to Kiawah for my wedding. There was carpet installation being done on the house until about 6pm – we were supposed to check in at 4pm. When I asked for some compensation, the woman… who called me told me that since I was only delayed “a little bit” and was given a late checkout (that we didn’t ask for or take advantage of) that they wouldn’t do anything. I didn’t ask for early access
