Services
For more than 50 years, our founding attorney, Donald Friedlander, has taken care of Alabama families' legal needs. When he opened his own firm in 1971, he brought with him his knowledge and a set of fundamental values. When Donald's son, Jonathan Friedlander, became a lawyer in 2009, the firm's values became a family affair.
Donald Friedlander was born in Mobile, Alabama, in 1942. After law school, he served in the United States Army from 1967-69, reaching the rank of Captain. He then returned to Mobile to practice law. He worked for the Mobile County district attorney's office and the law firm of Tyson, Marr and Friedlander before opening his own firm in 1971, where he remains today.
Jonathan Friedlander was born in Mobile, Alabama, in 1981. He grew up watching his father and older sister practice law, and developed a similar passion for it. Jonathan is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. He has practiced law in Mobile since 2009, where he has developed a reputation as a driven, innovative and aggressive lawyer who will fight for his clients.
One of your most fundamental American rights is to have an attorney by your side when accused of a crime. It does not matter what crime you are said to have committed. It does not matter when or where you were supposedly. It does not matter if you were born in Alabama or Timbuktu. You are entitled to a defense and cannot be forced to say anything to the police.
Were you hit by another driver on U.S. Highway 10? Did a loose banister send you tumbling? After 50 years serving Alabamans, you know that we are here for you. We have helped our neighbors in South Alabama and Mobile get settlements that cover their needs, even when they cannot help themselves. You can find our office 118 N. Royal St. in Mobile.

Over the 2015 Christmas break, while I was 1,000 miles away from home, I was notified of a serious legal situation. I quickly discovered the week between Christmas and New Years is a bad time for legal issues to arise because many lawyers are on vacation and court is closed. After calling 20 attorneys who were either on vacation or never called back, a friend told me to call the Friedlander Law Firm.
Within 2 hours of leaving a message, Jonathan Friedlander returned my call. My stomach had been in knots for 2 days, ever since I first learned of the legal situation. While talking with Jonathan
