Across the foyer from The Fitz, the Ambassador's lounge, Gin Rickey, features an eclectic menu of pre-prohibition-inspired artisan cocktails, a sommelier crafted wine collection and a variety of local craft and micro brews. The lounge offers a separate culinary menu with lunch, dinner and late night dining.

The Fitz features a menu of bold, creative flavors, crafted with influences from yesteryear. The Fitz's name is a nod to F. Scott Fitzgerald and his energy and creative storytelling throughout the roaring twenties, the decade during which The Ambassador Hotel was founded. The Fitz offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, each of which celebrates the rich history of the hotel with a contemporary take on the classics.

Went on a Saturday afternoon. Bar was quiet, but picked up a bit as we were finishing our food. Our bartender Allie took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. She was very kind and welcoming. We both had burgers and they were fantastic! Perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. Didn’t take very long to come out either. All in all a wonderful spot we did not know existed. Definitely will be back!

I don't know if there were having an off day or what. I'd like to give 2.5 stars. Felt like diner food trying to be fancy. Only 4 tiny half slices of French toast, tasted good tho. Sandwich was v greasy but ok. Oatmeal pretty good. Service ok. Kinda rough neighborhood. Wasn't feeling this restaurant.

What a diamond of a place I had never heard about. Fun bar and fabulous restaurant. Hoping to be able to go back again in the future. The food was perfectly prepared. The staff was very professional. It would be worth your while to give it a try!

Nope. We were staying at the Ambassador Inn so we had breakfast here. I Order the French toast (don’t do it) literally two slices of bread with a big ball of butter for 13$ and not even good. My husband had the egg Benedict and nothing special note greasy and not great flavor. Probably we just made poor choices. Good service tho.

High class food at at reasonable prices. Everyone raved about they're respective dishes. I had the short rib flat bread, which was fantastic, if a little heavy on the cheese. I stole a couple fries that were some of the tastiest I've ever had. Service was very professional- I get the feeling we were more rambunctious than they are used to. Tuna salad was fantastic but the pea shoots were difficult to eat. Short rib grilled cheese also got excellent reviews from my table. Everyone was happy with their drinks. I found the Hemingway daquiri a bit unbalanced, but others thought it was great the way

Classy upscale breakfast or brunch place in a beautiful early 1920s Art Deco hotel with very reasonable pricing considering the beautiful digs. Biscuits and gravy, blueberry pancakes, steak and eggs (maybe the best steak and eggs in the area), and eggs Benedict are all very good. I've always had excellent service here, I like that the waitstaff doesn't talk in that pretentious and annoying sing song voice and doesn't interrupt conversation. This place is fantastic! My wife and I met our nephew here for dinner. He was at the Rave as part of a tour support team, so the location was ideal. That was our main reason for choosing The Fitz. Little did we know that our meal would be phenomenal; way beyond our expectations. We had: short rib poutine for our app; a shared brussel sprout salad; entrees of butternut ravioli, short rib, scallops; pumpkin cheesecake and panna cotta for dessert - all of it declared unanimously delicious. The prices seem appropriate and the service was better than most. As my wife noted, the decor is bit of a throwback

This was our first visit to the Ambassador Hotel home of The Fitz and Gin Rickey. This restaurant and partner bar was a wonderful experience and a beautiful venue. Dedicated to F. Scott Fitzgerald.
The night started with a couple cocktails in the pre-prohibition themed bar Gin Rickey. A great selection of wines and signature cocktails. I had a Sazerac and their signature Manhattan both were outstanding. We also had a flatbread since it was happy hour,very food and the bar staff is both very knowledgable and excellent at their craft.

Have enjoyed several evenings here for dinner over the past year. The food is very tasty and the ambiance is simply unique. It was especially nice to take my father who years ago could recall a less stellar hotel. But now was over joyed with the renovation. The bar is great for a gin Ricky

A group of us were hoping to try out the restaurant (party of 8). We have a few people in our group that have dietary restrictions. We called ahead to see if they would accommodate our needs. The gentleman that answered the phone recommended that our friends that have dietary restrictions eat somewhere else before they come and watch the rest in the group eat. We canceled our reservation and made one at a different restaurant.

We went for their Mother's Day Brunch. It was a somewhat last minute decision mainly because our original plans fell through, but the gentlemen I spoke to on the phone was so kind to accomodate our group on such short notice. I can't lie when I say I was taken aback when I heard the price per head, but after our experience I can tell you that it was worth every penny. The food was hot, fresh and beautifully displayed. Every person we came in contact with had a smile on their face and I absolutely loved the hotel's charm. The decor was true to the era, very fun atmosphere!

Was surprised at how elegant and formal in an art-deco way, the dining room was. Elegant, but maybe a bit sterile. Service was not good. Despite the fact that we got a relatively early start, and the fact that the dining room was slightly over half full, it took quite a while for us to get greeted by server. Ordered a glass of wine for my mom and it took a really, really long time to arrive. Waiter made us feel like we were interrupting his otherwise delightful evening. Service was very fine. I would recommend anyone to try the restaurant. Very pleasant atmosphere. Now for the Short Rib Poutine: EVERY poutine is different. The beef was good and enough there for the dish but very skimpy on the cheese curds. As for the gravy, again, very skimpy. What little gravy there was was soaked up in the fries. We stopped here for dinner before a concert down the street at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center. The decor was exactly what you might think a restaurant would have resembled back in the 20's. Very Art Deco. The menu was brief but offered good choices. We each chose the filet and we weren't disappointed. Our waiter was a little stuffy, but courteous and prompt. Given the convenient location to where we were going and the quality of food (although a bit over priced) we would stop again when in the area.

Oh my gosh came here before a concert at the Rave . We had a wonderful server named Andrea. The steak was phenomenal melted in your mouth. My honey had the pork and peaches .Everything was fantastic ,we will definitely be back

Great find! I've been in no-carb hell for 2 weeks and the bibb lettuce wraps were so delicious they made me feel like a normal person again. Also the hubs said the grainy mustard (came with the burger) was the best he has ever had. Rounding out the tastiness was the epic chicken and black bean soup. Service was excellent--Barry took great care of us, made us laugh, and recommended the perfect local beer. Portions are very generous and ambience was cute. There were quite a few people in professional attire so seems like a good business lunch spot.

Update: I recently returned for brunch and Jason unfortunately is no longer the chef. Coincidence that my meal wasn't so great? My mother enjoyed her burger but I was disappointed by the generic fast-food fries that came with. You can do better, Fitz. I ordered the s'mores waffle and could hardly eat it. I love s'mores and I love waffles but the chocolate waffle was dry and the marshmallow was scant and hardened. This Art Deco restaurant has a great brunch!
Service was prompt and friendly. Great drinks and fantastic coffee. Bacon was crisp and well done. Pumpkin pancakes were moist with a great flavor.
As an added bonus, we were given a huge cinnamon roll to share while our meals were being prepared.
If you're a fan of Art Deco design, you'll love the beautifully restored hotel which houses this hidden gem of a restaurant. If, like my friend and I, you tried the two trendy breakfast places in the area only to be told there's over an hour wait, go a couple miles east and enjoy great food and

So we'd been here when it was the Envoy and the Ambassador bar...now it's Gin Rickey and The Fitz. Sounds like a trendy band from Riverwest or something....but anyway, the long and short of it is you should check this spot out.

They redid the space. I think in Gin Rickey they updated the paint and sconces; looks nice. Same layout. The Fitz was more updated... slightly different room layout. It looks nice!

So I guess Wednesday is half off wine bottles day...score!! Every bottle on their list is half off. Great deals to be had!

The service was wonderful. The food was also great (the pork belly was amazing). However the risotto was too al dente for my taste. The chef also came out to say hello and I thought that was nice. Although we didn't get dessert, our server provided us a plate with small mini desserts. The Art Deco decor was also nice and it was overall a great dinner and time. I'm from the Bay Area and a meal like this would've cost a ton and the prices here tend to be on the affordable side especially for the vegetarian options. Note that there are not a lot of vegan options.

I wish there were more vegetarian entrees on the menu: I'm usually annoyed when the only option I have is a grilled cheese (and salads, of course). For that reason alone, I knocked off a star. That said, this was a damn good grilled cheese: Gouda with a tomato sweet jelly. I also put some of the leftover guac from the appetizer on it, making perfect. As a Bloody Mary connoisseur, I was extremely pleased with their spicy bloody. I also sampled my girlfriend's Manhattan--half rye, half bourbon--that was delicious too! She was also pleased with her jumbo salad sandwich (on special). Great

From the minute you walk in the building, you know you're in for a special treat. With the culinary talent of Chef Jason Gorman, you can order anything on the menu with complete confidence it will be amazing. If you like scallops you must try them at the fitz!
