I wish I could give Dr. Mazursky zero stars because of the work he has done on my teeth. I went to him initially for only one tooth and ended up getting 3 crowns because that’s what he suggested. For two of the teeth he put a crown bridge which keeps coming off and then he has to shave off my top teeth every time to adjust my bite which is causing damage to the top teeth. For the third crown, he made it really high and had to shave off the top teeth on that side too just to fix the problem of the high crown. I picked this dental office for a routine cleaning based on the reviews on Yelp. Had I known! I searched for a new dentist because I wanted one closer to me rather than drive all the way to my regular dentist. It was easy to setup an appointment and the receptionist was pleasant.
But my experience with Marie, the dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth was beyond horrible. Her bedside manners were below zero, she spoke so loudly the other patients could hear everything she said, that's nothing compared with the manner in which she cleaned my teeth, I actually thought

I been coming to this place for years and not just me my whole family :) Rachel is the best dental hygienist I ever known, always helpful, provides terrific service from beginning to end with always smile on her face. Information about my treatment and pricing was upfront, clear, and thorough. The office is modern, beautifully design, and ultra comfortable. I was in an out quickly. I called the day beforehand with a groupon for a dental cleaning, exam, and x-rays...I was able to get an appointment for the very next day due to a cancellation. Rachel, my dental hygienist was friendly and personable along with everyone at the front desk. Dr. Mazursky himself was very friendly and examined the work Rachel had done along with my x-rays. Although I do not have dental insurance, I booked another exam and cleaning for 6 months from now with Rachel because she was so kind and made me feel at ease. I would definitely recommend trying out Oak Hall Dental and Rachel as your hygienist

I bought a Groupon for this office for x-rays, an exam, and a cleaning for $35. I was a little nervous about it, because it was so cheap-- and, not having insurance and several years overdue for a dentist appointment, I was worried they would try to pressure me into dental work I didn't need.

I had a dental emergency and emailed his office at 5:00 am on Friday. My primary dentist hadn't gotten back to me after I left a message on the emergency line the night before and they are closed on Fridays. Dr. Mazursky returned my call by 0745 am! I had the "LANUP" laser periodontal surgery done by Dr Mazursky and ended up with some fantastic results. He was very straight forward and professional when I had my initial consultation with him. His entire staff were pleasant to work with and they themselves are very knowledgeable and helpful. I would and do recommend anyone to go there even just for regular checkups. Dr. Mazursky is the way to go if you are in or around Columbia.

That said, Dr. Mazursky and his staff are wonderful. They really do cater to people like me, who hate going to the dentist. The hygienists are gentle and kind, but are just as good as the rougher hygienists I grew up with (knock on wood, haven't had a cavity in years). They genuinely seem to want their patients to be comfortable. They're always on time for appointments, but fit me in quickly (within a few hours) when I had a concern.

Dr. Mazursky is an excellent and caring dentist. His skill, experience, and training are evident in his treatments and handling of major dental issues - such as crowns. I had a crown done at his office and unlike a prior crown I had done - I can't even tell that I have a crown. The placement is so comfortable - I have to remind myself that there is a crown there. He took every possible step to ensure that my experience was comfortable and pleasant.

I came to see Dr. Mazursky for a second opinion after my primary dentist suggested I get a very expensive crown and root canal as a replacement for a bothersome filling. The filling had been done many years ago and was failing, but there was no pain associated with it. Dr. Mazursky did not think I needed a crown and suggested a composite filling instead, for a fraction of the cost. I decided to go with his suggestion and avoid getting the root canal and crown. The filling he performed has held up for years, with no pain. I was very pleased with his conscientious and gentle approach to dentistry
