The food here is great! I visited them when I came in from Omaha and I will definitely find an excuse to get back to Sioux Falls just to eat here again. Wow, if you haven't tried their Carne Asada, you are definitely missing out on an absolutely delicious meal. I had this in Mexico and haven't been able to find it in this area until Azteca came to town.

Bad Food, Terrible Service
We waited for over an hour and a half for our order to come out with no apologies for the delay or what was causing the wait. When our order finally did make it to the table it was cold and not cooked all the way through. When we asked to speak to the manager we were told he's too busy to speak with us. After another half hour of waiting he showed up and the only response and "solution" we got was being told "the kitchen is busy". I was asked if I wanted to take my food home that I could reheat it at home.

The food is pretty good and consistent. Service is questionable a lot. Some days you're greeted immediately and seated and other days you wonder if anyone working the front. Staff will walk by you, look out at you and say nothing and go into the back. They will walk out and not saying anything, then magically they act they see you. Walked in the other day and there were plenty of tables and we were asked if we could wait for 15 minutes for a table. We decided we won't go back. Not sure if they even care.

I ordered a chicken burrito and it was delicious. The meat wasn't dry and had nice flavor. We went over lunch and there were 4 of us. The waitress was polite and no one had any complaints about their food. There was a longer wait time for our food to arrive so that could be an issue if you were in a hurry (but we weren't.) We would go back.

Believe you me when I said I was fed up with "Mexican" after going to multiple locations. Azteca is honestly thee place to experience flavor, rice was bland for my taste but it goes well with the other ingredients and sides used. Didn't like the waitress second time around, as she was literally hovering over me for her tip... the first waiter though was pretty chill.
