Wendy began her dental career 35 years ago and joined Art and Dentistry in 1980. She received an associate's degree in dental hygiene from Temple University and a bachelor's degree in general studies from American University. Wendy likes the people she works with - our patients and our team. She appreciates the difference quality dental care makes in the life of an individual.

After graduating from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1997, Dr. Brodsky entered private practice in Bethesda. She purchased Bright Beam Dental from founder, Dr. Richard Rehak in 2000, which became Art & Dentistry, LLC in 2010. I have been a patient at Art and Dentistry for about 5 years. Throughout this time I have been so pleased with the high quality of the care as well as the warmth of every person in the practice. This week they went above and beyond. I was a about to leave my home for a trip to visit family and suddenly I felt something hard in my mouth. I realized that something broke off in my mouth. Ellen Brodsky charged us repeatedly up to twice the amount allowed by our GEHA dental insurance and even collected the dental insurance reimbursements due to us. GEHA attempted for almost a year to get us reimbursed for excessive billing and fraud. Ultimately, Ellen Brodsky was terminated by GEHA (i.e. removed from the provider's list) for breach of contract. Stay away from that dental office.

They said they filled two of my teeth but they did not. When I showed them, they said that the fillings must have fallen out. I had gone in for a cleaning and they said they filled the teeth at the same time. I fought with them about this for several months and finally went to another dentist who confirmed that the teeth had never been worked on. On top of that one of the teeth was now abcessed and ended up being extracted. Then I had to have a partial denture made---the whole thing ended up costing me around $1200. I have been going there for 11 years. Dr. Brodsky and Dr. K are great. Very detailed oriented.
Some of the bad reviews on billing issues and appointments were corrected. I was frustrated, as well. All the people I yelled at no longer there (office manager guy and billing girls). You have to specify and request permanent dental hygienist when you make an appointment. Otherwise, you are assigned to a new person or temp (some were okay).

This review is for Dr. Julie Lipps. A professional and nice doctor. She was working on my tooth crown. She kept asking questions regarding my feel about this process. She gave me suggestions on my teeth condition, and even my insurance coverage, which helped me balance between my insurance and personal payments. The crown was nicely installed without any problem. A friend recommended Dr. Kitahara and I'm so glad she did. After switching to a new dentist due to insurance, I had a very bad experience and needed to find someone new. I'm very happy that I found Dr. K. He's very thorough and gentle in his work and he has a very gentle "chairside" manner as well. I've had a crown and an implant and both times, I've had no pain at all, maybe just a little discomfort. I have other teeth that could need crowns in the future and so I like that he does not jump the gun and is somewhat conservative before moving forward. Don&apos

Art and Dentistry has a wonderful office and receptionist. They treat you with respect, offer water, and a nice place to wait. My Doctor, Dr. K is the most honest, reliable, accurate and talented dentist I have ever been to. Due to past bad experiences I have trust issues with dentists. Let me assure you Dr. K is not out to drill holes in your head for profit. He is there to help you attain oral health with only procedures that are medically necessary.

I had not been to the dentist in years so I was in need of a check-up and a cleaning. Everyone I met there, from the check-in people to the hygienist to the dentist, were very nice. They gave me a good cleaning and found a few cavities I needed filled. When I went back for the fillings the dentist was very professional and always wanted to make sure I was comfortable. They made a few suggestions but did not pressure me into buying any services I did not need. They are good at reminding you about your upcoming appointment. Glad to have found this place so close to my job!

Do not go here! This is the worst dentistry practice I have ever been too. I took my son here and they did not fix cavity! They charged me and wrote a referral that no one will accept. Do not go here and do not take your family here! Warning, this place is worst place around, only reason I went was insurance availability and proximity it was big mistake.

I was a patient there for over 16 years, before Ellen Brodsky, DDS ever bought the practice. Lately the office had not been maintaining appointments in a timely manner. After Brodsky showed up in the office 25 minutes AFTER the start of my appointment with her coat on and a wet head. i was told it would be a few more moments. I left the office, because I have a job too. I received a bill for services that they never rendered and a dismissal letter from the Art & Dentistry practice. I find it funny, that only 2 months later, Art & Dentistry sent out a letter to their clients stating Brodsky was

I now have a perfected smile, all thanks to Dr. K! I started with braces (Rad Orthodontics), surgeries (Kazemi Oral Surgery & Dental Implants), and the last leg of this 'project' bought me to Dr. Kitahara for some cosmetic dentistry. March 2013 to July 2015 - it's a pretty substantial chunk of time to wait. But it's all done and over with, and I couldn't be any happier. This is a very well organized office. The administration is very helpful and friendly. The dentists are all very kind and gentle. I especially love Dr. Kitahara. He is kind and patient and made my several procedures very comfortable. I would recommend him as a dentist. The selling of art in the office is a little weird, but seems to be separate from the high quality care.

This place does not even look like a dentist's office! It's swanky and artsy-fartsy. I love it. I have been going to this dentist since they were located at their other office and just love the "new" office (it's not so new anymore). In addition to the aesthetics, I really feel that they care about my oral health. I will be going there for my oral care for a very long time!!

Awful! Horrible service from the minute you walk in the door. We had the first appointments of the day and those didn't start on time every appt ran later and later. the hygienist was unsure about how to do everything she tried to do constantly needing help. Took more X-rays than necessary because she did them wrong. Had to leave before they could see my last child because they were such a mess. Never had this bad of an experience before.

Trust me, they do have the latest technology and equipment. In addition, Dr. Ellen Brodsky is one of the most thorough and skilled dentists you will ever meet. If she tells you things are messed up then they really must be. She does not BS and don't argue with her. Just close your eyes and enjoy the classical music. She has done such a great job with my teeth that I can't stop smiling and everyone tells me how great my teeth look. I completely trust her recommendations because of her conservative approach. This place is GREAT! My friend recommended me to Art and Dentistry and I was impressed upon entering the office. The office appeared to be state of the art (compared to the previous dentist I'd been seeing), and the office staff was friendly and welcoming.
I was called back on time and the dental hygienist was gentle and very friendly and professional. She did an awesome job cleaning my teeth! She even took measurements of my gums which my previous dentist did not do.
