I had a Tennessee hand gun carry permit application denied by Homeland Security because they said I was disqualified due to a felony from 1996 in another state. My charges had been reduced to a misdemeanor, so I didn't know why it was denied. I went down to my local General Sessions Court to inquire and show proof that my charges had in fact been reduced. Little did I know that the clerk was going to set up a date for me to sue the State. The clerk said I should get legal advice on whether I need an attorney to represent me.

I spoke to a secretary who told me that to even speak to an attorney to figure out if he could assist it would be $500. I easily spoke to another attorney elsewhere who spent 10 minutes with me on the phone gave me some advice and then told me if it doesn't work then we'd start the process. This seemed much more fair to me. They wanted $500 for an hour consultation with no guarantee that this attorney could in fact help me. Seems greedy to me.

During my consultation, Mr. Freeman was extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and relatable. I consulted Joey Fuson on a case involving my partner and he was extremely helpful, informative, and responsive. He was recommended on NORML site as being a stellar criminal defense attorney with extensive knowledge in cannabis (which my partner was charged with). Though unbeknownst to us his parents had already retained an attorney before they could meet face-to-face, we know he would have been a great choice.
