Dr. Babak graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He continued his studies at the Loma Linda Dental Anesthesiology program - a two-year post-doctoral certification program.
The combination of dental and medical experiences has provided Dr. Babak the breadth of knowledge necessary to safely administer a wide range of anesthesia techniques in the dental office setting.Our superhero dental anesthesiologist admittedly does sometimes rest from all his hard work helping our littles receive their optimal dental care.

We encourage our patients to touch, feel, ask questions and share feedback. All this in the interest of introducing the entire dental experience in the friendliest of manners. Our enthusiasm to share in this experience with your child and family cannot be curbed! We introduce our language for all dental instruments in terms kids just get.
We ask our families to arrive 10 minutes prior to their dental visits to tie up any loose ends, finalize paperwork and start your child promptly. If you are running behind, please contact our office so we may determine if your appointment time needs to be rescheduled. It is in the best interest of your child and our other patients that all appointment times be met promptly.

Dr Karen and her team are THE BEST. Everyone is always very friendly and helpful; they all seem to genuinely love children. Dr Karen is a naturally ebullient person. Her energy and optimism are infectious. In her dentistry approach, errs on the side of caution, always trying to take the least invasive course of action. (My kids do not have easy teeth!) I trust her judgement implicitly. The office of Chevy Chase Pediatric Dentistry is a truly happy, cheerful place, and one that provides top notch dental care.

It’s the second time I took my 24MO to her six month check up and I left the office feeling a little uneasy. First time it was amazing and today they were running behind on schedule which it was fine with me because I didn’t have anything else to do but what I didn’t really like was the dentist didn’t really take her time to make my daughter comfortable and let her open her mouth by herself or at least try and just rushed us out when she was done. My daughter is really good at letting us brush her teeth and she follows what she’s asked to do but she’s shy and I think today didn’t

I take both of my very little boys here and I LOVE this place. Dr. Karen is amazing and she has a fabulous team. My kids have zero fears of the dentist’s office. After my son had his very first real cleaning— something I expected might be a little scary— we asked if we could go back the next day. This is a fantastic place to get your kids comfortable with taking care of their teeth. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Chevy Chase Pediatric Dentistry is the best! All of the staff are very friendly, and Dr. Karen is wonderful. It is a very kid-focused practice that makes a trip to the dentist actually fun. My son even had to get a filling once, and they were very efficient and made the process as smooth as possible. He can’t wait to go back again next time to get another toy prize. Highly recommend!

This is a wonderful pediatric practice. Everyone who works there is friendly and wonderful with kids.The office is so cheerful and colorful with so many fun distractions. This was my kids first experience ever at the dentist and they will never be nervous or anxious about going because of how amazingly kind and caring they are. Dr. Karen is a gem and I recommend this practice without any hesitation.

My three little ones actually look forward to visiting Dr Karen and her staff, and if that’s not the sign of a welcoming office and positive environment, I don’t know what is!! We have had major work done with Dr K in the past and kids were all smiles. She is gentle and genuinely caring- as is everyone in the whole office. Highly highly recommend this practice.
