Have you just started a new business? Did you know expenses incurred before a business begins operations are not allowed as current deductions? Generally, these start up costs must be amortized over a period of 180 months beginning in the month in which the business begins. However, based on the current tax provisions, you may elect to deduct up to $5,000 of business start-up and $5,000 of organizational costs paid or incurred.

I decided to try a new tax company to do my taxes and the reviews for this company were really good so I decided to give them a try. I was assigned to Jennifer and let her do 2 years worth of taxes as she seemed pretty good. She told me that something was going on with my social security number and that she could not file it electronically for one year and that I would have to mail in my taxes, so I did what she told me and mailed them in.
