Crowns are dental treatments used to repair and protect teeth. Crowns are also sometimes placed on top of dental implants to create a natural-looking tooth. They can also be used as a replacement for a tooth which is not attractive due to staining or damage or provide an natural looking protective covering for tooth which is too damaged or decayed to be repaired with a filling.
Most patients should have their teeth professionally cleaned every six months to help prevent a buildup of plaque and tartar and to maintain optimal gum and tooth health. Having cleanings twice a year also enables the hygienist and dentist to look for early signs of gum disease so treatment can be provided to keep the disease from progressing.
One of the most serious dental emergencies is when a tooth or teeth is knocked out. If you have a tooth fall out or is knocked out due to trauma, you will need to visit the dentist immediately in order to preserve the chances of saving the tooth. Without touching the root, try to nestle the tooth back in its socket.
A tooth extraction may be required when a tooth has sustained too much damage to be repaired. Two of the most common reasons for tooth extractions are sudden trauma to the mouth and disease that destroys the viability of the tooth. Another reason for tooth extraction may be tooth crowding. This can be particularly common in young people whose teeth alignment is negatively impacted the eruption of the wisdom teeth.

Took advantage of my wife who was upsold on services she did not need and which could have been completed in 1/4 of the time charged by Dr. Bigelow.

Having lived with the crown on my front tooth for over fifty years, I had been reluctant to have a replacement one put in its place, but after recession of my gum line and differences in surrounding tooth coloration, the time had finally come for a change. Everyone in the office made the process so comfortable. Beth, Shirley, and Christie were great in scheduling visits, Audra and Rose were wonderful in overseeing the tooth whitening process. And when the old crown came off, and the new one went on I knew I was in good hands with Dr. Bigelow and Lynda, who spared no effort in making a perfect color
