We photograph weddings all over Western North Carolina, the Carolina's and the US Southeast. All of us are very outdoorsy people and love photographing outdoor weddings.

The first time I can remember playing with a camera was at a Detroit Tigers game when I was about 7. I took my parents' camera with their zoom lens to the game to take photos of the players. On a trip to Yosemite when I was 15, I saw a bunch of photos in the Visitor's Center, bought a book by Ansel Adams, and it turned from a hobby into much more.
We get asked this question A LOT. There is no good canned answer but I can give you a few things to consider when thinking about how much time you'll need on this business. Getting ready shots. Getting ready shots are the most common thing that I see people take out of their wedding photography package and the most common thing that I hear people say they regret not having photos of.
Another question that we get asked a lot about is "Do I need 1 photographer or do I need two at my wedding?" The very first wedding that I ever assisted on (gosh that seems like a long time ago) was in Michigan with about 500 guests. It was two very large families (one Italian-American and one Hindu-American) and both were very close families.

Booked Blue Bend for my wedding this June. Everything started out well with communication, but after the final payment was due, communication essentially halted. We mailed the check and it was never deposited, which made us worried. Both my mom and I sent several emails without response, as well as called and left messages without response. After about a month (a few weeks out from the wedding), I sent an email about canceling the contract and suddenly received a response. I went online and found other, similar negative reviews. Communication is of great importance when choosing wedding vendors. Blue Bend proved a lack of professionalism by disengaging with us after the contract was signed and a sizeable deposit was paid. Less than 3 weeks before my daughter’s wedding Blue Bend had not responded to emails or phone calls to touch base with us on final details. We lost confidence Blue Bend would provide services promised, and had to scramble to find a new photographer.

I've written them multiple times, both through their website and DMs on their social media, and crickets. Seems to line up with the other reviews about Blue Bend's inability to communicate with customers. It's too bad, because their portfolio of photos looks pretty good. Will have to look elsewhere for our photography needs, unfortunately.

From bright sun during the ceremony, to dim dinner lighting, to a pavilion lit only by strand lights, Nick rolled with the punches and delivered INCREDIBLE and unique photos despite what many photographers may have struggle with. He captured a beautiful mix of posed and candid images that embodied our relationship and the feeling we wanted for our wedding (intimate, classy, and incredibly fun!) As the previous reviewers stated, both the owner, Nick, and the photographers are very poor communicators. It takes multiple emails and phone calls to get in touch with them. They act "all business"but are not professional. If you are looking for personalized attention/care or above average photos, I suggest going with a different company.

Nick from Blue Bend Photography did our engagement photos and we couldn't be happier. We wanted something that felt like Asheville, but also felt intimate and like home. Neither of us are usually very comfortable having our photo taken, but Nick immediately helped us relax. He was fun, easy to work with, and also great at directing us during the session. I reached out to dozens of wedding photographers and chose Blue Bend due to their beautiful, classic editing style and reasonable investment prices. The reason for a 3.5 (google would only let me do 3) star rating is because of the lack of customer service and responsiveness. From the moment we booked with Blue Bend, I only received emails from our photographer until I initiated a call. Once we spoke on the phone, they were extremely helpful and easy to talk to. I will also add that their executive assistant was wonderfully helpful and encouraging throughout the entire process.

Well I was waiting until I got my pictures back to write a review just incase by some miracle I was wrong and they turned out great. I told the photographer I wanted him to show up at least an hour early before the wedding to get bridal pictures. The wedding started at 5:30 and I was to be in line by 5:15. So at the very latest he should have been there by 4:00 to be safe. Well I started calling him at 4:10. By 4:30 I’m in a panic and start crying thinking I didn’t have a photographer. He didn’t call or text me back . He finally shows at 4:40 and by that time I’m needing makeup again because

Nick was amazing on our wedding day! He was very professional and great at keeping us engaged and getting us to relax. With so much chaos around us it was great to work with someone so chill and nice! He was patient and made sure we got everything done without making us feel rushed or flustered.
