I have had a passion for photographing life ever since my father gave me my first camera at the age of 7. Photography for me is a way to tell a story. We have all seen photos that evoke emotion and move the heart. That is the type of photo I seek. Educated as a photojournalist at Western Kentucky University, I took my passion on the road working for over 10 newspapers and many magazines.
My work has been displayed in numerous publications including ESPN Magazine, The Dallas Morning News, New York Post, Martha Stewart Weddings, Habitat for Humanity International, California Thoroughbred, and Matrix. In 2001, I decided to take a leap of faith and returned to Louisville, KY, which is where I was raised.

My goal as a wedding photographer is to capture your day, not create it. While posed portraits are a fun part of a wedding, they are not the moments you remember. As a photojournalist, I keep a watchful eye and camera ready to capture the moments that make up who you and your family are. After graduating from college with a degree in Photojournalism and beginning a career in newspapers, someone asked me to shoot a wedding.
We offer an extensive line of options for portraits. We do both studio and on-location portraits. The choice is yours. In our Louisville studio, we offer engagement portraits, business portraits, senior portraits, headshots, modeling portfolios, family portraits, children portraits, and baby portraits.
Robert Burge Photography is a boutique style photography studio. Gone are the days of storefronts, standing in lines, and uncomfortable surroundings. Not only do we provide excellent service and products, but we also meet you in style, in a comfortable, modern facility. We are from Chicago, but had our wedding in Louisville due to proximity of our guests. I had never been there and my husband had only been there for Derby, so we hired vendors based on recommendations only and we could not be happier to have hired Robert Burge. From the moment we talked on the phone, I knew it was a great decision. We met him about a month before the wedding when we took a trip to Louisville and he was just wonderful. Robert's pictures were beautiful for my daughter's wedding but it took a year to get the final albums. Then we were told we would recieve $150.00 worth of free picutres since it took him so long to get the pictures to us, but yet again we never received those. So if you have patience and don't mind waiting a year his pictures are very nice but if you would like your pictures quicker choose someone else.
