As far back as I can remember I always liked to draw, but lacking my father's and my sister's artistic ability, I never could get the work to look "real" enough on paper, even with art lessons. And in high school I always wanted to go to parties or social events, but I knew I would rather go and WATCH than participate.
My rules for photos follow the words of Nirvana: Come as you are, as you were, as I want you to be. As a friend, as an old enemy. If you are a model, actor or in business wanting to promote yourself or just want a memory, I offer an alternative to the "posed portrait." I can shoot at a location or locations of your choice at no charge.
Since I began as a party photographer, the party is still my favorite medium. Weddings are cool but at a party it is great to see people relax and really live life to its fullest potential. No stress, eating and drinking and revelry! Thanks to a glass window I got shots that looked like I went underwater at this birthday pool party.
I love a wedding. It is always good to see people happy. And although I prefer the reality of an event I take many posed pictures as well, upon request. Take a look at this fantastic country wedding in Southern Indiana. If you prefer posed photos for you wedding, just make a list of the shots you want prior to your wedding.
Other alternative weddings. Period attire were optional at this renaissance themed wedding but most everyone got into the spirit. Keeping with the chain of non-traditional weddings, this couple would have eloped if their family did not insist on a small party at home. I told you I have goddess powers.
