Coletta's has truly remained a family-owned and operated business as it has expanded and grown over 95 years. Emil Coletta founded the original Coletta's, located on South Parkway, in 1923 under the name "Suburban Ice Cream Company, " where he served homemade ice cream, sandwiches, and pastas.
However, as the restaurant's popularity grew, he changed the emphasis to Italian, which later contributed to Suburban Ice Cream Company's transformation to the legendary Coletta's Italian Restaurant.Sailors from the local navy base began requesting pizza be added to the menu, a dish unfamiliar to the surrounding area and only known in New York and Chicago.

Horest Coletta would be absolutely ashamed at how awful his food has gotten. First time diner with my work crew and let me tell you… I’m 100% positive that McDonalds could do a better job at Italian food. I mean we had about 50 people in a party room. I had to ask for a high chair. To go cups for kids but the kids didn’t fit. I ordered BBQ pizza which was absolutely awful. Meat was dried out and tasteless. No cheese at all. Barely any ice in our drinks. My husband ordered a meat pizza and he, who eats practically everything, even said it was bland and chewy. How in gods green

This place is huge with a couple of rooms for private dining events. Plenty of parking and seating.
The decor is getting old but the place still has a cozy feel to it.
We had a party of 25 in a back room with only one waitress. She did a pretty good job serving everyone. The wings are very good. I also had the garlic bread with cheese. The canneloni was good but need to be microwaved. Entrees are huge and you will need to take food home.
I may return.

Excellent Italian food. Coletta's was a very good decision. Every portion of the meal was hot and fresh, tasted amazing, and was a portion size that will leave very few people hungry. I had the cannelloni and was satisfied to the point that I greatly want to return and try some more menu items. Definitely worth your time and money for excellent Italian food.

Just got this doordashed. We got hot food. That's about the only good thing that came out of this experience. We got some toasted ravioli and some spaghetti with their home made meat sauce. The meat in both dishes indicated some level of freezer burn. The meat in the ravioli was green??? Like I'm going to do a review everywhere else I go just so I can come back and show y'all the picture. The noodles somehow had the consistency of mashed potatoes. The bread feels more like a soft rock than a soft roll that taste like someone buttered up the dough from the pizza then flambé'd it for 30 seconds

Took my wife here today for lunch. Saw many good reviews online. Read all about their family history and how they are supposedly famous for their pizza, being from the North east is hard to find true Italian food. So against my better judgment we gave it a shot. It smelled good the bread was good…but the Coletta’s platter was frozen cheesy bread, mozzarella sticks and frozen fried ravioli. It was so bad I had to force myself to eat it. The Marinara sauce had meat and mushrooms in it. Who puts meat and mushrooms in marinara. Wife orders spaghetti and I got the pizza. Jesus god help our stomachs
