All of us know someone who snores. You might even be the culprit! Multiple nights of snoring isn't just highly annoying, it's also a possible symptom of sleep apnea. This condition can be a serious health hazard. Dr. Cox and our staff have the experience and expertise to help. Not sure if you have sleep apnea?

There are three key warning signs: Snoring loudly, chronic fatigue and high blood pressure. If you have these symptoms, you could be suffering from Sleep Apnea. The next step for diagnosis is to do a sleep test. Sleep apnea is estimated to affect more than 52 million Americans, disrupting breathing and sleep while exacerbating overall health problems.
Services
It's likely that you're aware of the term "sleep apnea." It's also likely that you have it and don't even know it. In fact, more than 12 million Americans have this condition, and potentially up to 90 percent of them are undiagnosed. But what is sleep apnea, and what are the most common symptoms accompanying the condition?
One of the main functions of Good Night Dentistry is to thoroughly screen undiagnosed patients with snoring issues and/or sleep apnea and provide sleep apnea solutions. So, you are in the right place! Please note that the only way you will know if you have sleep apnea is by undergoing a sleep test, (at home or in a lab), which is read by a board-certified sleep physician.
Snoring can lead to fragmented, poor sleep quality for both you and your bed partner. Interrupted sleep takes you back to the lighter stages of sleep, so that you essentially get less of the deeper stages that restore your mind and body. Poor sleep can lead to similar health risks as sleep apnea, including weight gain, altered sugar metabolism, and daytime sleepiness or fatigue.
Having a regular bed partner is said to improve your quality of sleep. Unfortunately, that may not be the case if that partner snores. In fact, if you are that bed partner, you may be suffering from "second hand snoring." Your health is also being affected, to say nothing of what it may be doing to your relationship.
If you have had a recent sleep study done (either at home or in a lab) and read by a board-certified sleep physician, then you now know what you are dealing with. The next question is "How do I treat this?" That depends on if you have obstructive sleep apnea, respiratory effort related arousals (RERA), or just primary snoring.

Dr. Cox ensured he had a clear understanding of my condition, my concerns and my treatment preferences. He additionally took the time to explain all aspects of sleep apnea and snoring and did so in terms that were easily understood. He provided relevant examples to convey the concerns and risks of these conditions, and he had samples of all the different oral appliances available for sleep apnea treatment. His treatment plan includes communication and consultation with, both, my Neurologist and Dentist. Overall, I am very pleased with the consultation and plan to move forward with his recommendations

Dr Cox is amazing. He spent over an hour of his time to make sure I understood how the process would go. He even explained what happens while you sleep and how sleep apnea occurs. This guy came out of retirement to help out people like me that don’t want a huge bi pap machine to put on every night. He explained in detail how the body acts during apnea periods. Answered every question I could think of. A+++++++ all the way.

I just had my first appointment with Doctor Cox. It couldn’t have been better. He took a whole hour to explain a lot of things. He wasn’t rushed, and answered all the questions I had.

After being diagnosed with mild sleep apnea I wanted a solution other than a traditional CPAP mask. I found Dr Cox and his team and was fitted for a DreamTap oral appliance! The results were immediate after the first night. I woke up refreshed and really slept well. My husband was thrilled I was no longer snoring too. Marina was the most helpful here as she informed me of applying for in network benefits for an out of network provider. My appliance was covered at 80%!
