We understand that arriving at a doctor's office for the first time can be nerve racking. If you've never experienced chiropractic care before, you may not know what to expect when you come to our Birmingham chiropractic office for the first time. Filling out paperwork, learning new faces and names, and getting to know your way around the office can be an overwhelming experience.
Chiropractic care is like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem.
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Palmer to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Palmer to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals. After your consultation, Dr. palmer will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility.
Most people are under the assumption that if they don't feel any pain that there is nothing wrong with them - that they are healthy. Unfortunately, pain is a very poor indicator of health. In fact, pain and other symptoms frequently only appear after a disease or other condition has become advanced.

Dr Palmer truly believes in improving the health and quality of life for all of her patients. Each new patient gets a thorough exam before any treatments begins so she can be sure she understands exactly how to help each one. Her approach is holistic, counseling patients on activity and nutrition in addition to chiropractic adjustments.

In 2011, I was 19 working construction and had a work accident on top of undiagnosed scoliosis issues. Ever since then I’ve gone through dozens of chiropractors, physical therapists, flare ups and bottles of muscle relaxers. I walked into Dr. Palmers office bent over and unable to stand through the X-rays without a break because of spasms. Within 3 visits she had me back at work pain-free as an EMT with instructions on how to lift, eat, and even sleep!
