Hi, I'm Hal Scarbrough, a licensed massage therapist, former licensed massage therapy instructor and founder of Houston Medical Massage. I am also a consumer of massage services. Houston Medical Massage was founded to address what I felt was needed for a highly skilled therapeutic massage therapist.
Prior to the start of each session, you and your therapist will discuss your concerns and devise a strategy to address your issues. Your therapeutic massage may include a variety of techniques including Active Isolated Stretching (AIS), Deep tissue massage, active release technique, mechanical vibration/percussion therapy and sports massage.

Awesome massage place. I’m not a massage fan and I search the web for a more technical place, and not a fancy massage parlor, because I’ve been having a strong back pain for years and not being a person who likes to take pain pills, I was looking for a place to help my body to heal naturally, so I decided to try this place and particularly I asked to be helped by Hal (owner). The result was amazing, and after only one session I can feel the great difference, the pain was reduced substantially and I decided to re-visit the place on a weekly basis. I highly recommend this place.

I love having a massage from Melissa!!! She is a very professional and attentive therapist. She is doing the best massage in the neck area I have ever received and after her massage, my whole body feels so good, healed, and relaxed. Her hands are so loving and strong at the same time and when she is doing a massage I feel like it is my mom is doing a massage for me. I can always relax during the deep tissue massage from her because she knows the perfect pressure without me saying a word. I am so glad I found her.

I developed tendonitis in my left foot that was just killing me. I went to Hal and in one session I walked out feeling no pain. He's excellent and I will continue to see him on a weekly basis. For the first time in days I didn't have any pain at night. He gave me instant relief.

Wonderful experience. Came in with months of Sciatica/Meralgia Paresthetica pain, was on Gabapentin to ease the pain and had tight muscles overall. Although I’m still on my journey of recovering, my pain has reduced significantly and is feeling a lot better. Not only did I get a great massage but Hal gave me a good stretch in the right places and held a great conversation and made me feel comfortable! Do not hesitate if you need a great quality massage 11/10 recommend. Hands of steal with care of a feather.

Great massage. He lets you explain your problem and actually tailors the massage. I had never had anyone focus on my problem areas for an entire hour. It was awesome. I was sore the next two days but it was bearable. I feel great and I’m not carrying the tightness I had before going into the massage. I will definitely go back.

Great work, Hal is amazing at what he does , i felt so sore from my neck , back to my lower body . I booked a section for 90 minutes with Hal , when I left the clinic I felt so great, no more soreness and headaches I even had a great night sleep and it’s been along time I had a great night sleep. I've been waking up with headaches every morning for a week, I had a massage with Hal yesterday and this morning was the first in days I woke up pain free. I am by no means healed of my ailments but in just one… session I am feeling so much better! I woke up with energy and so happy my head didn't feel like it was going to explode! He is extremely knowledgeable, has very strong hands and knows how to loosen the tension to relieve pain. If you are looking for a therapeutic massage that will truly help relieve pressure/tension/pain this is your guy! Well worth the one hour drive to see him

It’s always a pleasure to work with those that are passionate about their craft. I received a mini lesson on the muscular system to aid in my understanding of the pain I was experiencing. Hal offered self care tips and was extremely professional. I felt at ease and can’t wait to return. Definitely recommend Hal for a specialized massage experience!
