When I first moved here in March of 2019, I knew I was getting a place that was older and would therefore have fewer "modern" conveniences. But with its own parking lot, convenient location, high ceilings and industrial charm, I was happy to get my one bedroom on the second floor. Yes, my windows overlook all of the dumpsters, and no, I can't open my windows from April-October because of the smell and flies (those big meat-eating green kind), but eh, I was actually okay with that too. Do not rent here. It is not a horrible place to live, but it is absolutely not worth the money. You can live a few more blocks from Main Street in Somerville and pay just as much or less for a considerably better place. We paid $1900/month for a two-bedroom, and it absolutely was not worth it. Issues we experienced here included:
1) Exorbitant electric bills due to extremely inefficient heating and cooling. When you have old, gigantic, poorly insulated industrial windows, hotel-style combination heating/AC units do not do the job. Installing radiators would be expensive, but properly weather-stripping
