I developed my signature "Movement + Massage" program to keep myself and my clients healthy, strong, and pain free! Nothing makes me happier than sharing these preventive maintenance techniques with you. A Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Personal Trainer, I hold certifications from the Physical Mind Institute, American Council on Exercise, Precision Nutrition, and the Florida School of Massage.
Looking to decrease pain, lose weight, increase fitness, build strength, or prevent injury? We work together to help you achieve your fitness and health goals! Recovering from surgery? Build strength after you have been released from physical therapy. Already doing cardio? Add specific, targeted strength exercises to round out your program.
What are The Five? Each month I offer five new exercises that we incorporate into most classes and training sessions, when appropriate. How do I do them? Watch this video to see me demonstrating your November Five. You may go through these on your own, or do with me in a live zoom class or one on one training session.
Our November movement theme is circles. Hip circles, arm circles, spine circles, we will be playing with these elements in our weekly classes and one on one sessions. We often use weights, tennis balls, bands, small and large balls, and foam rollers. No weights? No worries. Check your kitchen or garage for solutions.

Of Anne's many fine qualities I appreciate her curiosity and interest in any information or system which will benefit her students. She is not rigid in her approach to the body and ways in which to improve functionality, strength and flexibility.

Anne really knows her stuff! I was in her Pilates class, held at my workplace twice a week. Anne was always ready with a complete plan for our small group. Because our needs and interests varied, Anne always offered alternate poses/exercises based on personal limitations. She's also friendly, funny, and kind to boot!

Anne is one of the most educated and well-informed fitness pros I've ever trained with. She is focused, mindful of your goals, sheds light on goals you didn't know you should have and kind but firm. Whenever I go for a run Anne's voice is in my head as I scan my body for proper form. She has given me so many tools for fitness and life! Most of my experience has been one on one training but the classes I've taken with her were also top notch. I recommend her highly.

Anne’s classes are delightful and so helpful. I arrive in pain, tense and uncomfortable and leave pain-free and relaxed. Anne works with injuries, providing guidance on modifications to moves to accommodate injury. She works with all levels from beginner to experienced and personalizes the class to support her clients. I have been working with Anne weekly for over 5 years. She is an excellent fitness trainer and understands the requirements and limitations of a middle aged person’s body. I love Anne. I've been going to her studio for three years. I started with a massage as I had at the time chronic pain in my rt shoulder. She worked her magic and my shoulder was pain free after the first visit! I could NOT believe it. We are now working on posture and core strength to prevent recurrence. I dropped 30lbs to boot which is always a plus!! HA!
Anne adapts all her exercises to my capabilities (and age), she is encouraging and helps me through the tough spots.

I have been working with Anne for over 7 years attending yoga and Pilates classes regularly as well as some one on one personalized attention. These are small private classes, rarely more than 5 people so you receive individualized attention. This is important to me as I have many sports injuries from my HS and College years. Anne pays attention to all of your physical needs while keeping the class challenging for all. I don’t think you will find another class or instructor like this in Portland!

Anne is basically a life coach, personal trainer, nutritionist and best friend all rolled into one. She really knows what she's doing, asks all the right questions, and helps you think about your health goals holistically. Also? She's hysterical. Fluid Movement provides the only exercise classes I have ever enjoyed. I attend classes in Anne’s studio twice a week. I never want to miss a class. Anne is knowledgeable and personable. She really cares about each client and gently encourages us to live our most healthy life. Most importantly Anne is fun and promotes self-care.

Anne has been so helpful for me - especially post knee surgery. Her method to approaching movement and really listening to your body is something I definitely needed. She's helped me to learn new and gentler habits so that I'm actually taking care of my body now vs beating it up with the hardest workouts I could do. AND - she gives great massages too! I highly recommend Anne.

I have been working with Anne for over two years. She is an excellent trainer. Her ROSS (relax, organize, strengthen, stretch) System gives an excellent workout which is strenuous but avoids injury. She is knowledgeable, generous, and great fun. I love working with her and highly recommend her to others.

I have been taking yoga from Anne for the past several months and I am delighted. I am 60 years old and in quite good shape but I am 60 years old. Anne is masterful at helping me modify the poses so that I get all of the benefits and none of the risks. And, just the other day my partner commented that she'd never seen me so committed to my practice. It's been a wonderful experience.

I start every week with Anne. She is a joy. Building strength, healing injuries, massage, you name it. All done with humor and caring that makes it enjoyable, even when the work is hard. I wanted to update my review, especially in light of the two negative reviews I see here which are so wildly not even close to my experience with Anne. I have been taking pilates with Anne now for 4+ years and I also take Tai Chi Fit with her. Anne is, without a doubt, one of the most talented fitness professionals I've ever worked with. Her pilates class is challenging and interesting and fun! It's a great workout but it's more than that - Anne has a way of inspiring you to do just a little more than you think you can and she is always there to provide you with personal attention

Buyer Beware! I purchased $400 worth of personal training sessions from Anne. After using 2 half hour sessions with Anne, we learned our child was diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder. Through intensive therapy and a lot of at home work the prognosis for our child is good. However the amount of work required has forced us to make the decision for me to exit the workforce to put all my focus on our child and this diagnosis.

This massage was disappointing and over priced. She clearly to me did not want to be providing this service because I booked online an hour or so before. When I explained what I wanted - specific, attentive to problem areas, not an "all over body generic massage" - she concurred. But that is pretty much what I got. I explained that I had three specific problem areas and wanted to focus on one of them that day. She didn't ask any follow up questions about those spots to understand what was going wrong. I Love Anne! My Partner and I have been going to Anne for years. She is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. Not to mention has a great sense of humor! She creates custom packages / plans that work exactly for you. I have seen her mostly for massage but also have worked with her for personal training. She is both motivating and fun. I have had massages that were intense and problem focused as well as massages where I fell asleep they were so heavenly. Highly recommended!!

Anne is so nice and her energy is amazing, I instantly wanted to hug her. I really love that her studio is a house in Sellwood, it was so charming and welcoming. The massage was amazing, it was both calming and energizing and she totally got rid of the kink in my neck :) It was really nice to be able to zone out at times but then also have an easy conversation with Anne.
I will absolutely recommend Anne to my friends, my neck hasn't felt this good in months!

Anne is fabulous! My husband and I have been working with Anne for several years now and we feel more limber, athletic and in shape than we have in years. She brings a great background of training and education to every session so you're always learning something new about your body. And her massages are amazing! I highly recommend her.

Love Anne! I like the balance of working out followed by massage...it's the combination that make this a killer treatment. I like to book 11/2 hr starting with half hour of Pilate's followed by amazing massage...she does cranialscaral massage, hard to find anyone certified in this really light touch but effective body work. I suffer from vertigo and chronic neck pain and cranial is the way to go.

I visited Anne for Massage and Physical Therapy. She was wonderful. She listened to my concerns and issues and addressed them beautifully. She was wonderfully intuitive and perfect in the amount of work that I wanted and what my body needed. She specializes in work/stress related tensions and injuries. I have referred several friends to her, she has done wonderful work with older female clients and they have loved her. Her cranial sacral work is heavenly. I can happily recommend Anne as a Physical Therapist, personal trainer, and therapeutic masseuse.
