I help disconnected couples reconnect. I do so using an evidence-based therapeutic model called, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I do my best work with couples who are ready to engage in an active, "here and now" process of couples therapy. I'm not a sit back, listen and nod my head kind of therapist.

Marriage takes work and most of us aren't born "good" at being married. We excitedly say our vows and begin to learn for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health is more difficult than we bargained for. The Enneagram is much more than personality inventory, but rather a tool for emotional, spiritual and psychological growth and can be a profoundly helpful tool in your marriage.

My fiancé and I wanted to do some premarital counseling to learn more about each other and the intricacies of our personalities. Scotty Alderman Counseling worked through a couples assessment with us called Prepare and Enrich. This experience helped us understand the other in a completely new and compassionate way. We learned areas in which we excel as a couple and areas in which we need to improve. Scotty was very encouraging to both of us during this process.
