Rick and Teresa Baum established Dart Automotive in 1997, but Rick has always had auto repair in his blood. When he was a kid, he worked at a cabinet shop and then at a gas station doing minor auto repairs. Later, Rick joined the Air Force and was stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, where he stayed for 7 years as an aircraft maintenance specialist on the F-4 and the A-10.
Teresa happened to crew the A-10, and Rick and Teresa met on base. During this time, however, Rick kept himself busy, working part-time as an automotive technician and operating a towing business even while he was servicing aircraft. Later, Rick moved with Teresa to Europe for three years to work maintenance on the F-111 Super Saber.

My fuel pump failed while towing a travel trailer to Myrtle Beach. The owner towed my vehicle in late Thursday evening and had my truck repaired Friday afternoon. They even picked me up at the campground when my truck was ready. The price was extremely fair. The truck runs great and everyone at the shop was helpful and friendly. I could not be more pleased with the service, everyone was very professional. I would highly recommend DART for all of your service needs.

Coolant was disappearing from my vehicle, but there were no leaks and vehicle wasn't running hot. I was having to put a half gallon of coolant in every week. I took my vehicle to two different shops before going to Dart. Water pump was replaced, but didn't fix the problem. Pressure test was done at another, but there wasn't any leaks. Another shop that couldn't get my vehicle on for service thought it may be the intake manifold gasket, but it wasn't. I took my vehicle to Dart because they had good reviews and have mechanics that have the training needed to work on my vehicle. I have a Super Charged

I'm floored by the outstanding service Dart Automotive offers. About six weeks ago we were on our way to Savannah. Surprisingly, our car broke down in Conway. My first thought, "We have to bring the car to an unknown mechanic who will know we are stranded and rip us off."
The opposite happened. Dart Automotive came to tow the car within 30 minutes. They treated us as if they'd known us forever and did everything they could to get us on our way asap. We rented a car and headed to our destination while Dart installed a new alternator in our vehicle.

I called to schedule service on my truck. I told Jennifer that I ran a diagnostic and thought I may have a bad injector. She said, we will have to do our own diagnostic, which I expected and encouraged. I asked how much would it cost if they had to change one injector (only one because I am selling the truck and just replaced all 8 injectors 2.5 years ago). She said it would be approx. $600. They kept the truck 7 business days to put in one new injector. (2.5 hour job). i was told they had to order the part and it would take a few days. I can't say enough good things about our experience with the folks at Dart Automotive. We were on our way to Myrtle Beach in our motorhome. It died on the way and we were towed to Dart. They were very busy but found a way to help us quickly. After explaining what the symptoms of the failure were to Rick, he said it is likely fuel related and started his diagnosis process. They found the problem, dropped the fuel tank and replaced the fuel pump and connector. We were on our way the next day and the coach has not missed a lick since. The people were friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate

I had the pleasure of visiting Dart Automotive last year on a family road trip when my truck decided to break down on the highway. My insurance company and tow coverage called around and found Dart, who is the only repair shop around who could look at my truck on a Friday. Thank Goodness!! We were on our way to Tennessee!!
We got to the shop and were able to wait comfortably in their waiting area. That was so wonderful to be able to do since we didn't have anywhere else to go, not being from there. We even got to hang out

My son's truck broke down on 501 and would not start, and we live over 8 hours away. I called Dart at 9:20 pm on a sunday to see if they can help. I got a call back in less than two minutes and they went to rescue him. The driver was very calming and re assured me they can help, he even texted me to let me know they have the truck loaded and heading back to the shop and my son was okay!

I was referred to Dart Auto by a friend a friend who really knows his cars. Boy am I happy that I took his advice. Dart diagnosed the issues with my car really quickly despite how much other business they were dealing with. Dave and his staff are truly knowledgable in their craft and as fair and honest as I could ever ask for. If you need car help for a german vehicle this really is the place.
