Chow King Grill & Buffet
Chow King's roots trace back to Alabama and our original founder, Yun Da Chen, who came to the United States from China with a dream of starting a restaurant where everyone could feel at home. Originally called The China Buffet, that first restaurant laid the foundation for what Chow King is today.

We opened our Cobb Parkway location in 2017 after an extensive investment in our facility. We are thrilled with our space, and we know you will be, too. With seating for up to 500, we can easily accommodate large groups. We have event rooms you can reserve as well. With more than 20 years of restaurant experience and more than 25 restaurants across several states, the Chen family is proud to serve the Smyrna community.

I got some hibachi my rice was hard as ever. I'm allergic to mushrooms and the man gave me the wrong bowl after giving him a nice tip. They don't turn over the food quick enough.

For time I went was a weekday. Signs say masks need to be worn, temps were taken & plastic gloves worn at buffet. This appears to be taken seriously & food & variety was good.

Second time we went was a Sunday lunch. It was a whole different story. Temps taken, mask signs still up & gloves given... but it was a madhouse of large groups who totally ignored social distancing, gloves & masks. Young children were let loose to run all over & help themselves to the buffet food... using their hands.

Our poor server was clearly overwhelmed. We gave her a good tip out of empathy

Chow Please!
I was so grossed out by the smell and even more annoyed with myself for continuing to eat there. (Blaming it on my bf, men just don't care)!

Food was not hot, and the taste was nothing to rant or rave about. I love a buffet that consistently keeps up with bringing out fresh food. Here, they waited for the last piece of noodle of lo mien.

They have to do a better job with cleaning, especially during this time we are living in.

What I will say, they do a great job with filling up that water. Every sip...Pour!

I probably won't be back.. Came here after work for dinner and the food was barely warm. Then they have more seafood than anything. Horrible, just horrible.

It was your typical Chinese buffet but they had a wide variety of food. We went on Christmas Day since we were in town for the game and it definitely came in clutch. Very clean, food was good, and you could tell they were trying to be covid safe (even took temp before checking in). Not bad for the money. A place you can go if you're in the mood for variety.

Very little was hot and fresh! You could tell a lot was from the lunch hours. We were there at 4 p.m. Cleanliness was an issue. I actually killed a roach coming out from under one of the steam tables. Not a good choice for dinner. We will not eat there again! One and done!

They act like they are hosting a famine. Pictures were taken at 530 on a Thursday. I asked the manager when they would restock the buffet, his reply, "Sushi takes a long time to make, maybe 30 min to an hour." No, they do not charge half price for their half empty buffet.

This place was HORRIBLE!!! We went there during dinner time and it looked like they hadn’t cleaned ALL DAY. There was no food, the tables were nasty, the floors were gross and the smell was indescribable. The only option for fresh food appeared to be the hibachi grill however, the food items didn’t appear to be stored properly. Someone needs to go in and do a complete overhaul of this establishment. The decor at the entrance was pleasant though. 🤷🏽‍♀️

What a horrible place to call a restaurant or even a buffet, it is a sewer pit waiting for the rats to come and finish them off.

Went there today with my family of 6, expecting a miracle it seems. What we found was fish that tasted like swamp water, tasteless rice, greasy chicken that tasted like it was soaked in cooking oil last week, stuffed jalapeños with corn meal(?) in the center, sushi that was made days ago, tasteless craw-dads, watered down soda,, and worse!

Egg-drop soup, canned banana pudding, frozen Nesles Fruit pop-sicles and oranges were the good parts of the meal.

2021-Jun-16 (Wednesday lunch, 2:30-3:45 pm): Upgraded to 5 star rating. Excellent food for ALL buffet bars, including Sushi, Hibachi, and Dessert bars. Great air conditioning! They offer senior discounts too!
2019: Gave 4 rating.

Honestly I love this place, we go very often and they're always very kind and welcoming to us. Their service is fast and the place is neat, all the food is fresh and you can see them replacing it often, it's also pretty busy most of the time so the food comes and goes quickly. Can't beat the prices

Did a takeout here. They have certainly adjusted their procedures appropriately to taking necessary pandemic precautions. Server placing food on plates or tray - glass shields on buffet area. Would feel safe doing a dine in here if in the mood.

Dine In: Avoid going here closer to closing time as the employees are usually aching to get out. Hibachi options were good. Everything else was hit/miss but may have the vibe of sitting out a hair too long towards end of night. Overall okay if in the mood and convenient. Service was fine.

You won't find a restaurant with worse service than this one. We went at 6 pm on a Friday and they were not busy at all. Maybe three tables total. We were prompted seated at one table but when we returned from the buffet, our drinks were at another table. The buffet had a decent selection but nothing looked too fresh. I think only the rice and broccoli chicken were replenished while we were there. The sushi looked like it had been sitting out for hours and only four pieces were left. They never brought out more. We both had water and only got a total of two refills. We were basically ignored

They have great Hibachi options but unfortunately the buffet was very mediocre. Lunch prices are unbeatable. However, you get what you pay for.

They do a really great job with trying to take covid precautions however someone should enforce it more when guests are getting their food.

Terrible service they were not friendly or welcoming felt like they wanted our money but not our presence. Seen worker with mask pulled down they kept staring at out table as if they were talking about us. I love sushi and I loved my trips to Atlanta, but I came to this place cause I heard it was good and I'm diassapointed in the food but more so the service, thats what really makes the experience.

Visited 12/12/2019 - First and foremost I'd like to say that I absolutely love this place. As a long time Cobb resident, I frequent this place because of the location, variety of food, and quickness with which I can be in and out.

Whether you want sushi, wings, fish, fried food, baked, food, grilled food.... they have it all. I love hibachi and they even have a grill where you can make your custom hibachi plate. This alone is the main reason I keep coming back for more.

Five Stars -

P.S. - If you come here during the week for lunch (before 3 p.m., I believe) the buffet is less than

My son loves this buffet so much that he almost made himself sick trying to eat multiple times from their huge selection.

Its not a lot of authentic Chinese cuisine on the buffet, so dont expect it, but its cool for feeding multiple people with different tastes on a budget.

I am a pescatarian, and I was able to find enough vegetarian/seafood choices to create a plate for myself.

Tip: Tell the server everything you need in the very beginning, because if the restaurant is busy, you may not see her for a while.

I came here for the first time to order take out. They told me I can grab a to go tray and come back out to pay. This place has everything from barbecue ribs, to sushi, blue crab, and hibachi. They have a ton of different proteins to choose from and a host of sides. Since I only eat seafood, I decided to do teriyaki hibachi with noodles, shrimp, zucchini and vegetables and a fried egg.

If you want hibachi you have to pick all of your ingredients, put them on a plate and bring it to the hibachi station in the back where you can watch the chef cook the food. I also decided to get 4 pcs of sushi

Chow King is pretty good I started coming to this location because I stopped liking the one on Austell Road. They have a variety of items that you can choose from, and I like that everything is fresh and they keep bringing out food whenever it gets low. A friend and I went for the lunch buffet which cost about $8.50, and that's without a drink. The waiter came over and often to make sure we we're okay and to see if we needed more water.

Stopped in for a late lunch. As you can imagine, this place is the typical Chinese/Japanese/American buffet. They have sushi included in the buffet price. They have made-to-order hibachi, they have made to order noodles, ice cream, peel and eat shrimp, pretty much everything you have ever seen at these buffets. The staff was nice and tentative, clearing plates and not being judgmental about how much I can eat (which is a lot). The price for lunch was under $10. You can still get the lunch price even after they set out dinner/during the transition, just make sure you dont eat any of the dinner specific

My oh my.

As anticipated, like all other Chinese buffets, the quality of their food went down after a while.

Now, dont get me wrong, it is still a pretty decent place for the price, but definitely not as good as when it was still pretty new.

I suggest to go during their peak hours so you get their food nice and fresh. The place is pretty big so Ive never had to wait for a table.

Keep in mind that large families come here, so prepare to be seated next to children and babies and their families that allow these kids to trash the place (feel sorry for the severs).

All in all, this place is a-ok

I am a fan of Chow King in Norcross so I wanted to check out the Smryna location. I was warned already cause my SIL does not like Smryna location but likes the Chow King in Norcross. She was hesitant to meet us in Norcross but did so. She loved it so much that she keeps coming back to the Norcross location even though she lives in Cobb County.

I work in near Cumberland Mall so before a coworker left for his month long vacay to Japan. We met up as a team to eat at Chow King. It's only $7.99 for lunch so why not? Lots of choices to choose from.

The setup is different but I feel that flavors

The significant other and I went here to chow down before the Braves game on Labor Day. The place was pretty busy, but they were able to seat us immediately.

The wonton soup was really good. The wonton was huge! I especially favored the battered and fried crab. It was interestingly meaty and flavorful. The significant other also agreed since I feel like there's seldom any meat or flavor in these crabs.

Aside from the two mentioned items, there were fried and steamed jumbo shrimps, two or three different fish dishes, crawfish (don't rec), mussels, and maybe scallops. They also have the
