Located in the heart of bustling downtown Ambler, Dettera presents sophisticated dining in the center of Philadelphia's northwestern suburbs. Executive Chef Jeffrey Power's New American cuisine pairs perfectly with Dettera's premier collection of new and old world wine selections. Chef Power develops his menus using the freshest, all-natural meats, fish, fowl and seasonal produce available.
The kitchen closes at 9:00pm. There is metered street parking out front, a metered parking lot next door to us, which is free after 6pm, and there are several free spaces behind us, on Race Street. Also, if you're having a Private Event with us, Valet Parking could be an option (inquire with our Event Coordinator).

We visited as party of 4 for my wife's birthday. It was a disaster of a meal despite the chefs being very talented. Soon after we received our drinks and had ordered our food, we were asked by the Front of house manager to move tables since they made a mistake giving us a middle table. She offered a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. They moved us over and then shortly after a party of 3 was sat next to us with one of them being a child seat so really not sure why they asked us to move. Meal and drinks were both very good. Service was on slow side but that’s the norm post covid so not an issue.
Trying to get someone to reach back out to us to correct a bill issue that we discovered next day. It was our fault and we’d like to correct it. No one has returned my calls, though. Hopefully someone responds to this.

I have been a supporter of this restaurant during thick and thin. They really do have good, moderately priced food. It was the first restaurant I returned to after the last height of pandemic. I felt safe in their outdoor space, with the entire staff wearing masks then. Not so tonight! None of the staff was wearing masks outdoor or in. The hostess told me that vaccination and masking are voluntary. As an expert on COVID-19, I assume that anyone I don’t know without a mask is a carrier till proven otherwise. The service here was so painfully slow, but we were patient as places are short staffed right now. However we had to get up and go behind the bar just to get a knife and fork. My husbands chicken was undercook, it had a pink tinge to it. When we asked for more bread sticks for our cheese board, the server brought us a loaf of bread. She was busy, I get, but we paid way too much for this meal and such a poor experience. We were stuck waiting so long for the bill, 35 minutes. No offer of dessert, and no one checked on us once. I really wish I asked for a refund when I was there.

So initially as with a lot of businesses at the moment, Dettera is understaffed. Now with that being said, they were still fairly quick .
The staff was visibly stressed but did really well.
The food was good. The salmon and pork loin turned out and the only thing I could think of is a little bit of seasoning on the pork. But other than that, good food. Drinks good too. Price was a little higher than expected for two people and not a lot of drinks.
The building itself needs something, it seemed a bit to bland. Colors are good and fairly neutral, need to get rid of the mirrored back wall though

Came here for happy hour with a friend and I LOVED it! They have drink specials which are so delicious and cheap during the happy hour!
My friend and I also got the fig arugula pizza which was so so delicious and crispy! It was just perfect with our drinks. We also got the cheese board which was a little smaller than most cheese boards I had but still good!
I would definitely recommend this place as they have a super cute patio and spacious seats inside. Great for family dinners and catching up with family and friends!
