The AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry) recommends that parents establish a dental home by their child's first birthday.

Dr. Brett and his staff encourage parents to accompany their children for all new patient visits and subsequent cleaning visits. For treatment visits (fillings, extractions, etc) parents are always welcome; however, Dr. Brett recommends parents and other caregivers remain in the waiting room. Experience has shown that children tend to do better when their attention can be focused in one direction.
Your scheduled appointment is reserved specifically for your child. Any change in this appointment affects all of our patients. If a cancellation is unavoidable, please call the office at least 48 hours in advance so that we may give that time to another patient. If two (2) broken/missed appointments occur or two (2) cancellations without 48-hour notice, our office reserves the right to NOT schedule any subsequent appointments.
Please familiarize yourself with the information that follows. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask one of our business office staff. Please understand that payment of your bill is considered a part of your child's treatment. While we will accept assignment of benefits from your insurance company, you will be responsible for the full balance including any amount that is not paid by your insurance company.
Dental insurance is meant to be an aid in receiving dental care. Many patients think that their insurance pays 90%-100% of all dental fees. This is not true! Most plans only pay between 50%-80% of the average total fee. Some pay more, some pay less. The percentage paid is usually determined by how much you and your employer has paid for coverage or the type of contract your employer has set up with the insurance company.

This was our first visit with our 18 month old and unfortunately it was not a good experience. When we arrived there was nobody else in the waiting room, but had four children arrive after us and all were called back before us. We waited for 30 minutes in the waiting room trying to entertain an 18 month old.

I was very nervous for my child’s first dentist appointment this morning, but I didn’t need to be. The experience at Kearney Pediatric Dentistry was amazing! Everyone was so patient with me and my child, let him explore the new environment, explained everything they were doing and why, and told us what things we were doing right at home and what things we should start doing to ensure excellent dental health! Everyone from the doctors, assistants, and receptionist encouraged questions and took time answering. We will definitely be recommending Kearney Pediatric Dentistry to all of our friends
