You are the friend everyone comes to for support & advice. You are very sensitive to the moods of others & you do a lot of listening in your relationships. People just feel better after talking to you! The problem is you have very few relationships where you feel like someone is listening to you and there for you.
You fall so easily into the role of caring for others that you don't know how to ask for support when you need it, let alone feel comfortable doing so. Being vulnerable may not come naturally for you, but you are finding yourself in need of a space that is just for you-a refuge of sorts-where you can open up about the loneliness, anxiety, and overwhelm you are feeling.

I am a Licensed Professional (Clinical) Counselor in Missouri and Ohio, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a graduate of Missouri State University's CACREP-Accredited Mental Health Counseling Master's program. I help sensitive introverts find their way through loneliness, anxiety & overwhelm, onto a new path of kindness and generosity towards self.
Therapy is a deeply personal process in which you may uncover thoughts and emotions that are difficult to stay present with. This might be the first time you are dealing with things you have avoided for a long time. Whether it is anxiety, insecurity, overwhelm, or something else entirely, I promise you are not alone in your struggle.
What follows are the most common questions people have when considering therapy with me. I hope my responses will ease any anxiety you may have around starting therapy and help you in deciding whether we would be a good fit. Professional counseling fees are $125 per 50 minute session. My practice is setup as self-pay, so I do not bill insurance.
I've spent hours and hours AND hours researching and learning about all things private practice. I've participated in trainings and gathered countless resources: books, podcasts, blogposts, etc. To build my practice, yes. But also, I love this stuff! My goal is for you to have a SUSTAINABLE practice-so we will also talk self-care.
National Suicide Crisis Line: 1-800-273-8255 (TALK) Calls answered 24 hours a day and transferred to cities all across the country to connect individuals with a trained professional who is based locally for the caller.
