I was extremely happy with the care we received from Dr. Tufaro and his staff. When our dog was well, they accommodated his special behavioral needs and were very cost conscious about not ordering unnecessary tests. More recently, when he was nearing the end of his life, I couldn't have asked for a more kind and empathetic team to help us navigate this painful time. Thank you so much for everything.

It's just weird.. came back only bc no one could get me in this week. the staff is always nice to me but the vet is a little off.. I have a weenie dog and every time I bring her he looks at her with terror.. and I finally said forget it and brought her some please else for better communication and people skills. I'm not sure who dr. T is who this last person is taking to but dr. Rick b. I'm not even sure why he is a vet. Today I bright my dog in to see if they could help. He literally looked at me with question like he didn't know why I was there in the first place. I do find

Dr Tufaro really eased my nerves taking my 9month old cat in after she fractured her back leg. The staff and Doctor are really caring about the pets in their care. We were in and out in about one hour which really surprised me because my cat needed xrays. Overall I wish I could give more stars but we will definitely be coming back here from now on. Thank you ABC VET.

I took my adopted cat here three times. The first time was Oct 2019 when he needed x-rays to check on a surgery (with plates and screws) that was done pre-adoption at another animal hospital earlier that year. I was pleased with that visit. I went back in Sept 2020 for vaccinations and because I suspected my cat was deaf. At that visit, the vet said that my cat was overweight, called him a "walrus" and when I asked about his hearing, his initial response was that he probably doesn't respond because he's fed too much. That's very unhelpful and rude. He acknowledged that he wasn't a hearing specialist

This vet clinic has the most awful staff! Special shout out to the manager Gabby who's extremely RUDE, arrogant and unprofessional! Also, I'd like to point out that my encounters with the vet were always awkward!
Listen, all it takes is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE for a business to crash and burn. And judging by the reviews here, it looks like what happened to me isn't isolated.

Wow. I'm actually really surprised at this place. I called to get general information/pricing and Gina was super helpful and thorough with answering all my questions. No other clinic would give me answers to questions like pricing... Even my appt time was great. I got seen a little late but where do u ever get seen on time? The doctor was great too. Very informative. I will absolutely recommend this clinic

I was really hoping to enjoy my experience at this office as it is very close to where I live. I took my 9 week old kitten, Cleo here yesterday for vaccinations and a checkup. When I picked her up and took her home, I noticed one of her claws was profusely bleeding - as seen on the image below. As I checked the rest of her claws, almost every single one of the claws was cut down to the quick. 3 of them had been bleeding down the claw, however the image seen below is the worst of them all. I have been going to Dr. Tufaro since 2001, with many different pets, and he is the best vet I have ever found. I wish I could find a doctor like him to go to for my own care.
He is incredibly busy because he takes emergency cases. I don't mind waiting in the waiting room because I am glad to know that if my pet has an emergency, I can get care at this clinic.
Dr. Tufaro is like an old-fashioned GP who doesn't have a ton of equipment like many vet offices do, so he doesn't rush to do a bunch of procedures to pay off the cost of Cat scanners, etc. He does thorough exams and all

My girlfriend and I had just moved around the corner and found that this was the closest vet to us.
Unfortunately, when we called about vaccines for our puppy, we had rude responses, rude enough for me to waste five minutes of my life and write this review. Now that I'm reading the other reviews, I'm happy the receptionist was rude because this place seems like a nightmare.
I feel like if a vet , out of all establishments has no excuse but to put out a comfortable experience, from the first phone call to during the pets visit.

The doctor and his staff were very attentive to my cat Lulu during a recent routine checkup. I have also brought in a senior cat who has since passed and even though the doctor's assessment of his condition was not optimistic, his delivery of the tough news was very compassionate which meant a lot to me during a difficult time. The space is nice and the prices felt reasonable. I plan to do more extensive dental work on Lulu at this practice because it has so far proven to be reliable. Would recommend.

I do not write reviews often but seeing all these negative reviews I feel compelled to speak up. I have been taking my dog, Sasha, to Dr Tufaro for the past two years since she has been with me in NY. I originally brought her in for an issue she was having at the time because they were close to my old apartment. I continued taking her to ABC even after I moved and could have gone to a vet on my block in the village (there are a bunch). I did this because I really appreciated the care we received from Dr Tufaro and his team. I have absolutely no idea why the jerks below would say such horrible things

One of the best animal hospitals and doctors. The doctor is typically timely and gentle. He does really well with my golden doodle who is 7 years old now. My dog hates the vet and the doctor is quick, to-the-point and helpful with any questions.
At my latest appointment, I came in on time and waited for an hour before being seen for an appointment that lasted 15 minutes.

I brought my 16 year old tiny (9lbs) ill dog to be put to sleep at abc animal hospital recently. Everyone there was very nice. I was very emotional and asked several times that they be very careful and not hurt my dog in the process. Bu they did!! They had trouble putting in the catheter for the medications and when given the 1st of 2 medications injected into the catheter, he screamed and bit at his leg. He struggled and I was told by the vet that "It just feels funny. It doesnt really hurt" Well yes it did really hurt and I have grave misgivings about people who discount an animals

The owner/vet of this establishment should be in prison. He tried to grab my dog from me because he thought I was not going to pay for the visit yet he had my name, address, and phone number on file. On top of that, he wasn't ever nice or hospitable to begin with....disgusting human being. If you love your dog do not go here.

They scheduled me for a dog teeth cleaning appointment at a check up. three weeks later they told me part of a sky-high $600 fee would be doing another check up on my dog.
This is on a dog was with the same vet three weeks doing the same check up when he recommended making this cleaning appointment. They see pet owners in the area as gullible and willing to pay whatever for the best for their pets. No other vet i contacted required this.
If they want to behave as if they do not have competition or need any business, then good luck with that.

As a veterinary technician and having worked in the animal care field over 14 years, I found this place to be less than satisfactory.
The exam felt rushed, the Doctor clearly did not hear things I mentioned to him.
The exam room was still dirty when we walked in. The exam table itself was also dirty. There was fur and urine on the floor. The room was obviously not cleaned between clients. Basic sanitation between exams is usually standard practice.
I am not sure if there was just a staffing issue that day or if this is how it normally is. The receptionist up front was also the same person

I picked this vet based on the proximity of how close it is to where I live. After reading other reviews I was apprehensive but in the end I was happy I chose to go here. Dr. Tufaro's bedside manner put myself and my dog Frankie at ease. Him and his assistant are knowledgeable and I felt comfortable having Frankie in their care. After his appointment I received a follow up call from the doctor with the results of his blood test and information on how to reach out to him with questions about the new medication he is taking.

In case you don't have time to read my novel below -- Dr. Tufaro slammed doors, got in my face to yell at me, and threatened to call the police when I attempted to ask about the extra procedures he performed on my cat. He clearly has something WRONG with him and should not be allowed to interact with people. I'm sure he is a capable vet, but if you would like to deal with someone that can have a civil discussion, Dr. Tufaro is not your guy.
