From the very start, we decided we were going to offer the pets that came to us the most progressive, high quality veterinary care available, and we have never wavered in that commitment. As the field of veterinary medicine has expanded, we have continued to offer more in-house services and procedures to ensure the best diagnostics and treatments for your pets.
We have gathered together a staff whose high level of skill, training, and experience is matched by their compassion and dedication to care for your pets as though they were their own. We are dedicated to the concept of fear-free veterinary care, and strive to make every visit a positive experience for both you and your pets.

Services
In 1979, Dr. Khalsa set out to create a veterinary hospital where every patient and every client would be treated with the kindness and compassion deserved by every living thing. She wanted her hospital to be a place where the highest level of modern veterinary medicine would be available to her patients, and where she eventually would integrate the best of ancient healing modalities as well.
At Fountain City Animal Hospital, your pet gets the benefit of care given by many hands, many heads, and many hearts. Our support staff is such an integral part of patient care here, to call us a "team" is an understatement. Our goal is to work as one unified entity, from the reception desk all the way to the kennel area of the hospital.
One of the most important (and under-appreciated!) services we provide is comprehensive physical examinations of your pets. You may feel that you're bringing your dog or cat to the office once annually just to get his "shots, " but the amount of information we gather about your pet's health on the exam table, even before any diagnostics tests are run, is often surprising.
A comprehensive vaccination program is the bedrock of wellness care for our pets. So many life-threatening diseases can be totally avoided if we are conscientious about appropriately vaccinating our pets throughout their lives, and it is heartbreaking for us to see animals suffering and dying from diseases we know could have easily been prevented.
When your pet does become sick or injured, we are fully prepared to take on any challenge. The potential difficulty in zeroing in on the source of a pet's problem can be daunting, but we have developed great expertise in this area over the years and are often sought out for second opinions on particularly challenging cases.

To be brand new to an area and be referred to them was a blessing. Sadly our oldest dog was in a health decline when we moved and the team here treated us with excellent care. We had to have our beloved baby girl put to sleep and I could not have asked for more compassionate people. The dignity they offered to my baby doll was exceptional. I love this vet.

While I loved our veterinarian, the rest of the staff here is extremely unprofessional. We dropped our dogs off for boarding and was never given an estimate or details on their "requirements" to board. We were called a day later told a ton of extra stuff and charges were being added. On another visit I dropped our dogs off for baths and 7 hours later no call. I called them only to told by the front staff, "umm yea I guess their ready". To than get a 160$ bills for 2 baths/nails trims/booster shot. Seriously!? The customer service here is extremely poor and infuriating. To top it all off I'm fairly

My dog was groomed there. Dog was cut up bad by the person that groomed him. He suffered from cuts very badly. Bled for days. Will never ever take my dog in there ever again. Several times took him in there and his teeth appeared broken as well and mild concusion on one visit. WIll never take my dog in there ever again to be cut up and whatever is done while they take your dog in some back room. Barely survived the abuse.

We are new to this vet after moving to Knoxville. We have had one well-check and also a tooth cleaning with 20 extractions. We are very impressed with the front desk and nursing staff. They are very kind and attentive. We received follow up calls after the teeth cleaning. Our dog was actually carried around by a nurse after his teeth cleaning to help him feel safe and calm, so kind. I would definitely recommend this vet.

I brought my 8 month old Australian Shepherd furkid in for a checkup. The staff and vet were super friendly, kind and helpful.
I liked that they have 2 doors (one for cats and one for dogs) to help our furkids be less stressed. I was immediately greeted and assisted by Chelsea when I entered and given paperwork (since it was the first time I visited). She shared they would call me when they were ready since I had left my pup in my car (with the windows cracked on a 57 degree day).
They called me within minutes to say they were ready for us (we had a 2:30pm appointment). It was not crowded and
