Originally from Texas, James Scott, Jr. graduated with honors from the University of Baltimore with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He began his career with the U.S. Marine Corp, earning the rank of sergeant. After the Marines, he joined the large international accounting firm of Ernst & Young. In 1990 James co-founded Penan & Scott, P.C.

Roles & Responsibilities: My team is responsible for writing the firm's Quality Control Manual and guiding the firm through "peer review" every three years. We also establish the accounting and operational policies summarized in the firm's accounting manual. Favorite Food: Italian food, lobster, steak and most definitely pizza are my favorite foods!

We also offer numerous services and financial solutions to attorneys handling divorce, business partnerships, recovering of lost profits and partner buy-outs. Our firm takes great pride in offering our clients the time needed to thoroughly understand and express your side of the litigation. Penan & Scott, P.C. is well versed in this discipline due to the principals many years of experience.

In working with our clients, we gain an initial understanding of each business to identify its unique features. Collaboratively, we develop a long-term strategic plan, including systems for benchmarking growth. The customized plan is then implemented from a tax, cash flow and financial statement perspective.
