Boulevard Animal Hospital is a family-owned practice located in Northeast Philadelphia. Established by Dr. Jerry Geffen and his wife Ellen in 1978, BAH offers quality services in a welcoming and professional facility. Our mission is and always has been to serve our clients and patients with honesty, love and compassion.
We all wish that our pets could verbally communicate with us, tell us when they are sick or uncomfortable. Until the day comes when we can translate their barks and meows, we believe that a thorough physical examination is critical in determining your pet's health.

A thorough history is taken during each appointment to evaluate each pet's risk. We are then able to assess the need for certain vaccines and titrate a personal prevention protocol with you and your pet. Our goal is to educate you and your family about preventable and/or zoonotic diseases and help you make a decision based on that knowledge.
With the advent of our digital X-ray unit, we have been able to offer more accurate diagnoses for our patients and a better visual explanation for our clients in a timely manner. Most importantly, though, is our staff's ability to recognize when a radiograph is indicated and offer this service accordingly.

We are beyond disappointed and insulted by the way the staff treated us, very rude and disrespectful, made mistakes on my cat’s paperwork and when I asked them to correct it they gave me a sarcastic tone on the phone and made me go back and forth to pick it up and still was wrong and missing the Dr signature, in the end she threw the documents at me and told me to take my cat somewhere else. I don’t understand why this ladies working the front office act like this? and mistreat the customers as if they were superior to us!

I am 56 years old and starting taking my mom's cats to Boulevard Animal Hospital when I was 15!!!.... Back then I always saw the senior Dr. and Mrs. Geffen. As I now take my cats to The son Dr. Brett..... whom I always saw as a young boy at the office.... As back then and is still to this day the Geffens are the only vets that I completely trust with my pets.... Dr. Brett is kind, funny, thorough and understanding of all my needs. Diane in the office is the best and I've also known her for the many years that she has worked at BAH!!... I will continue to take my pets only to BAH. I recommend BAH

I took my pets to this hospital for 13 years. I stopped because the main doctor almost killed my rescued six week old kitten. After finding a new place to go, I found out my dog had a heart murmur that was pretty significant????!!!!!! after ONLY ONE visit to the new doctor. How unprofessional is that? My dog was placed under surgery at this hospital on several occasions and I was never told that the dog had a heart murmur?!!! My dog, my BFF, COULD HAVE DIED!!!!!

This has been the most pleasant experience of my many years of seeking vet care for my animals. Dr Brett and Kelly and the rest of the staff have been really awesome. I appreciate that he doesn't sell and he is absolutely doing this because he loves it and it shows. When my 15 year old cat took a turn for the worst after developing a tumor I took him to where I always would, Boulevard Animal hospital. They always took great care of my cats. They're very respectful and responsive to the needs of your animal as well as with you in hard choice times for your animal. Thank you very much for the years of care for Jameson!
