Dr. Shelly Galvin graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1990, and has been practicing in the area for the last 15 years. Each month she continues to learn more about the newest dentistry procedures to better meet the needs of her patients. Dr. Galvin also spent three years in the Navy stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

I stopped going to the dentist for several years- mainly due to anxiety due to less than favorable dentist experiences during my childhood.
Westwood dental is the place I first tried when I wanted to start going back to the dentist and the experience has been great. Really professional staff that makes you feel comfortable. I can honestly say I don't really feel much anxiety going to the dentist anymore. Can't recommend this place enough!

Dr Vin is GREAT. She listens, she has a soft touch and my procedure was painless. Honestly would HIGHLY recommend this dentist, especially if you're scared of dentists. This place and this dentist will definitely put you at ease. I've already recommended them to my extended family. The hygienist Amy is also lovely! Happy I found this clinic!

Absolutely the best dentist I’ve ever been to! Dr. Galvin is amazing and fast. Chase, however, is the reason I return time and time again to get all my tooth fixing done! He makes a truly daunting experience fun, which if you’ve been to the dentist for any serious work you know can be quite traumatic. Thank you Chase!

I was very nervous to get a partial crown and 3 fillings, but the staff at Westwood Dental made me feel very comfortable. Chase was an amazing dental assistant who allowed me to listen to music during the procedure, even going so far as to finding me a pair of headphones. That took some of my anxiety away. Overall, a great experience! Highly recommend!

As always the Hygienist and Dentists at Westwood dental did a great job. I used to have a real fear of dentists but after a few visits they showed me that even dental work doesn't have to be a bad experience! Plus, I have the piece of mind that I am in good hands and they have my dental health in their very capable hands. Thanks Westwood Dental!

Westwood Dental is always a great experience. They are careful with me and my sensitive teeth and are always friendly. They were very careful and thorough with their patient process during covid. (Never doubted that they wouldn’t) Love them and will recommend them to anyone. They have redeemed my previous bad dental experiences at other places!

Great 1st experience. It has been an embarrassingly long time since I’ve been to the dentist (I fear going like a lot of people) but they were so efficient, professional and personable. I had a filling (from another dentist) come loose and they were able to fit me in the next day to repair it. They emailed me the forms to fill out ahead of time and sent text reminders. It’s a nice office, very clean and welcoming. Everything seems very modern and up to date. The dental assistant/tech (whose name I can’t remember but who was lovely!) did x rays and she was quickly able to give me an estimate

This is the best Dental practice I’ve ever visited. Every single time they are so nice and courteous. They remember me and things about our conversations from the last visit. Dr Galvin is immensely talented, my appoints are always quick, comfortable, and I feel well informed. Chelsea and Amy are the best. Her whole staff is nothing short of the kindest, most knowledgeable, and personable that I’ve ever dealt with. As long as I’m in the KC area I will be coming to Westwood Dental!
