Services
If you are a citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States you can follow a multi- step process to help your family members immigrate to the U.S. A U.S. citizen can sponsor any family member in their immediate family such as their husband, wife, son or daughter of any age. A U.S. citizen who is at least 21 years old, can sponsor their brother, sister, or parent.
The husband, wife, or fiance of a U.S. citizen can be sponsored to immigrate to the U.S. or to become a permanent resident. The fiance or spouse will be issued a K-1 visa and allowed to enter the U.S. once the application is approved. If the spouse is already in the U.S., they must file for an Adjustment of Status.
A foreign national who has an offer of permanent employment in the U.S. can be sponsored by their employer, who must follow a multi-step process to help their employee immigrate to the U.S. Applicants are granted visa numbers based upon four categories of employment.: 1. Priority Workers- This category includes foreign nationals who have extraordinary ability in science, the arts, education, athletics, or business.
Foreign nationals wishing to visit the United States for a specific purpose may do so for a temporary period of time. Examples of a temporary visit would be business, pleasure (vacation) or a medical treatment or operation. The United States is a nation of immigrants. To become a citizen of the United States, a person must be born within the U.S. or obtain it through the process of naturalization. Any child (18 years of age or younger) adopted by a U.S. citizen is granted citizenship immediately. This is according to the Child Citizenship Act which was passed by congress in 2000.
